Turkish hosting provider teknoclouds.com that provides domain and hosting services to local customers, mainly used by webmasters were offering bargain pricing for domain registrations and/or transfers.

Last year there were some discussions on Turkish forums that they're mostly using pre-paid accounts on Microsoft Azure for these services without paying a dime, and that caused a panic for possible domain deletion.

Company mentioned that they were only using the Microsoft Azure API for connecting to Wild West Domains (GoDaddy) and denied the gossips.

Recently in four days, lots of domain names are being forwarded to Godaddy nameservers (Some of them are listed as for sale at GoDaddy Auctions) and/or deleted which are created via Microsoft Azure through Wild West Domains and Teknoclouds mentioned that problem is on Microsoft side (As they commented out, Microsoft has updated their policy), also, they mentioned that there's no way to communicate with GoDaddy/Microsoft Azure and solve the problem, as a result, they pointed ICANN for further actions.

But, ICANN couldn't take any action yet, because Teknoclouds is just a domain reseller and pointed Wild West Domains (GoDaddy).

GoDaddy also mentioned that there's nothing to do on their end and pointed Microsoft Azure.

"I understand that you are writing in about a domain registered by Teknoclouds. We are not directly affiliated with Teknoclouds and they are not one of our customers. With review of the domain name. We show that the the domain name was registered through Microsoft Azure and Teknoclouds was a customers of theirs. We only provide back end processing for Microsoft Azure and have no access to their accounts or system on these domains. Teknocloud was not registering domains through us but were registering them through a partener of ours which was Microsoft Azure. If your domain name was registered in the last week or so, your domain has being automatically canceled and sent back to the registry, in which you will need to repurchase the domain name through your desired registrar of choice. As we have no dealings or direct interaciton with Teknocloud we have no way to further assist you here and all communications would need to go through the responsible parties. This means that any refunds of the purchase would need to come from Teknocloud as you were paying them to get the domain from Microsoft Azure. In the case that your domain was registered more than a week ago and the domain has not been canceled by Microsoft you will need to open up a ticket with Microsoft Azure for them to further assist you with gettingt he domain active in your Azure account. You can create an account and put a request in through the steps below provided by Microsoft Azure and Select "APP Service Domains". Things to keep in mind, if your domain name cannot be moved to your account 1 reason on another, there would be not be any way for us to further assist you again and replying for further assistance will not gain any additional support, these domains were purchased on your behalf through Teknocloud and you were not the purchaser of these domains. We do apologize that Teknocloud was not being fair and upfront with their customers but there is nothing more we can do on our end here"

Microsoft Azure App Service Team couldn't give any proper information about this issue yet.

Few people are forwarding this issue to local courts, also it's published on the news.

Sure, there's no way to recover domain names on pending status, as they will be dropped.

But, people may have a chance to regain names that're still parked on GoDaddy nameservers.

Lots of developed sites belonging to individuals and companies are affected within this issue.

Some people are also ready to make additional payments directly to GoDaddy and/or Azure for a solution.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
GoDaddy involved in yet another weird operation... Even if it's not their fault they have a bad habit of getting involved in strange messes.

I have 40 affected domain. Companies are indifferent and insensitive.
The company we bought the domains from seems guilty, but wouldn't it hurt everyone to delete so many domains and not look for a solution?
Also, what kind of action is it to put domains for sale immediately? . Godaddy has failed.

There is much to be said but;
I made the necessary complaints.
I'm waiting for the results of this problem.

I hope the issues get resolved.

I am also in the same situation. We are waiting for companies to provide a solution. Taking away a domain name from us shouldn't be this easy.

Update: After reaching via social media and sending support tickets, Microsoft Azure App Service Team commented that they're working on the issue with GoDaddy and will provide more information as soon as possible.

They also mentioned that official announcement about this issue can be made.

Still waiting for an update both from Microsoft Azure and GoDaddy.

There're some rumors that they're not in any serious discussion about this issue, only support teams handle the requests of people and comment that "there is no way to recover", but @Paul Nicks gave a little hint about it;

Is it possible if you can share this topic on your social media accounts and/or blogs?

@Bob Hawkes @equity78 @Robbie @Ron Jackson @OnlineDomainCom or any other whom i haven't tagged here..

Your support will be appreciated.

Microsoft Azure Support don't resolve Turkish users problem, Wildwestdomains passes problem to Azure, Icann passes this problem to Wildwestdomains. There is no resolve :) 40.000 domains!!!

Registered domains are on:

Godaddy > Wildwestdomains > Microsoft Azure > Teknoclouds

Godaddy should be acting independently of what Microsoft is doing by removing the domains from auctions, they're not willing to transfer the domains to the legitimate owners, but they're fine with removing the domains once they sell? C'mon man!

Update: Nameservers of some domains started to revert back and web sites are becoming active.

But, there's not any official statement yet from Microsoft Azure and/or GoDaddy.

Update: Microsoft Azure stated that domain name owners that registered their domains in 60 days can contact with Wild West Domain support and they'll handle the internal account transfers.

Working on a solution is continued for the names registered before 60 days ago.

So what is that, a reseller (Teknoclouds) of a reseller (Azure) of a reseller (Wild West Domains) of a registrar (GoDaddy)?

That's ridiculous and GoDaddy should ultimately be responsible for their resellers. Why is GoDaddy allowed to build a reseller chain that's unsupportable? Where's ICANN? Isn't it their job to make sure this type of thing doesn't happen?

Icann is a rather bulky build. Waiting for a long time without any solution. Ignores the end user.

Thanks for the ping.

Even if there's not any official statement yet from Microsoft Azure and/or GoDaddy, Azure App Service support engineers commented that they listed the whole names around 40k and working on a solution for sending authorization codes to domain owners automatically from internal department.

Also, few domain name owners are making requests to Microsoft Azure for moving the names to domainpricedright.com (Wild West Domains).

On previous update, Microsoft Azure forwarded the owners who had registered their names in 60 days to contact with Wild West Domains and request their names to move at domainpricedright.com.

As a result, for accelerating the process, the best solution is here to send DM to Microsoft Azure support at Twitter and request a one-time support ticket service, then contact with Microsoft Azure directly.

Is there an update? Is there a way to access my domain name?
