I don't think this is correct. I import the zonefile daily (without idn) and I can't see a drop like this. Here are my numbers for 2021 Nov so far.

Thanks for sharing! I am getting my numbers from checking Dofo for registered .com with length 1-63. Not sure why there is a disparity, maybe there was no big drop and Dofo just changed their calculation method? Will keep monitoring to see if anything changes.
