Hi all.

I bet a number of you are wondering why I am holding a contest if I am a designer myself... Well that's easy. I am booked with work and I haven't been able to come up with anything for myself... been giving out all my fresh design ideas! This is my first time hosting a contest here so I'm hoping for a good turn out and I will provide as much feedback as I possibly can.

Anyways here's the specs.

I need a SIMPLE yet bold logo to place on the footer/bottom of all of my website's that I design. I generally just put something like "Site Designed by Sore-Eyes.com" but I would like a small icon in place of this.

The logo should be something along the lines of this for example:
sore-eyes_icon-example.gif

It does NOT have to follow that exact formula but keep in mind it needs to be limited in height and total size because it will be used in the footers of the websites and people do not want a large promo of the site at the bottom of their pages.

KEEP THIS SIMPLE AS IT WILL BE DISPLAYED IN A SMALL VERSION AT THE BOTTOM OF WEBSITES

INDUSTRY: Web & Graphic Design
LOGO/ICON IDEAS: It would be ideal for it to feature maybe an eye/eyeball of some sort; if not then maybe something corporate but identifiable.
NEEDS TO SAY: "Sore-Eyes.com" and "Web & Graphic Design"
COLORS: Preferably black & white or a max of two colors
PRIZE: $20
PRIZE PAID VIA PAYPAL
DEADLINE: No set deadline at this time. Will close when a satisfying entry is found. A set deadline will be announced soon, but for now the floor's open.
FORMAT: Vector entries only please.

Thanks guys. I'm hoping for some nice entries in hopes of something great to represent me and my company. :)

lilgee - a bit too generic of an eye. i'm looking for something with more identity. and it does not need the border/box around any of this... i only put that in the sample to show where the icon could be placed.

vip-ip - not bad. the eye is a little too big and too far away from the text. there are also too many layer effects on the text... remember I would prefer this to be vector and one flat layer... do not need any 3d effects or shadows as I can add these where I find necessary.

guetizo - Not liking the eye at all... looks kind of scribbled ??? Also the subtitle shouldn't be a vertically spaced away from the website.

vivsin - I like this eye design more but the only thing is the colors may be too many. The text is also not visible on the dark background you have it on and the overall size/height is a bit too large.

good start everyone, keep them coming -- feedback will be given.

here are my ideas. i made four different eyes. i didn't bother puttingin the words because i can do that after if you like any of them. thats the easy part.

they can be changed to any colour. i particularly like the last one because it is the letter s for sore-eyes but still has the shape and look of an eye.
feedback appreciated.

Actually I like the first eye as well. I like where you are going with the fourth one with the "S" as the outline but something about it just doesn't stand out to me. I think it's because I'm picturing it in a much smaller form and I don't think it will have the same effect... maybe try a slightly different version with the S but more distinguishable... but i like the cleaness of the first one

thanks vip-ip, I appreciate the revision.... you still have the layer effects on the text (drop shadow/stroke/etc), please remove these effects. also, I noticed that the eye resembles a target a little too much (arrows/dart target)... might want to try and do something a little more abstract... ??? just play around with it a bit.

Is this more of what you had in mind? Let me know.

statd - nice job here. I kind of like both of the eyes here. I have one suggestion. take out the black squared section.. you know where the black and blue are joined as a square. take the black piece out and let the eye hang out and change where it is blue into black on the right side. thanks!

vip-ip - sorry but the eye is still too generic.. i need something with a little more flare/more abstract. so far I like dew and statd's eyes the best; see those for reference if you need direction. also, we still have the effects on the text... this should be vector but if not I would like a little flexibility with this.
