$20 Logo contest

Hey All

I need a Logo and slogan for my site Cellyhookups.com.
We will be selling cell phone accessories.

Background Info on our name:
Celly is a slang/ hip hop word for cellphones
and of course hookups is hookups LOL

The concept is where everyone can go to get hooked up with GREAT prices on thier cell phone accessory needs.

If I see something I really like and decide to end the contest sooner I will annouce it and give everyone 1 days notice before annoucing the winner that will make it fair to all to have an opertunity to finish thier Logo and slogan and submit it.

I have confidence in this board and in you guys and gals and i know you have always put out some creative work.

Im very excited to see what you Guys and Gals can come up with in my case.

i'm sorry l0zo but you have to change that cell phone and draw your own creation. that phone is an istock photo and due to their terms in the licensing contract you cannot use their images in logos or anything over 72 dpi. if this was just a web banner or something it'd be fine but it could not entail anything related to a logo or corporate identity.

here is a clip of some of the prohibited uses:
PROHIBITED USES:

(c) use the Content in any posters (printed on paper, canvas or other mediums) or other items for resale;

(d) use the Content or any part thereof as part of a trade-mark, design-mark, trade-name, business name, service mark, or logo;

I do not mean to put you on the spotlight or anything but i'd hate for you or the buyer to get slapped with a copyright infrinement lawsuit if this surfaced.

WoW man thanks for bringing this to light. I had just assumed that all entrys were done from Scratch.

Sylense it is not over 72 dpi, the colors are completely different, the cell phone is cut so it is a section of it and i added the sound waves things and the triangle.It should be fine

it is meant for a logo thus it should be at at least 300 dpi anyways, if you failed to do so then it cannot be an actual logo anyways what you have created is a web banner/header. besides the resolution, it specifically states you cannot use it for logos or a service mark to identify a company/organization. it doesn't matter how you altered it; it still remains property of istock so try your luck if you want but those terms of agreement can be sticky... just my advice :imho:

Thanks Sylense for all your wonderful input, Ghost the first logo's should be fine, but if in doubt i altered the phone a bit just to be on safe side,Personally i think it looks even better!

WOW so many great entrys........its really becoming hard to choose the winner

So Heres what im going to do.

First let me say that you ALL should be proud of your entries they are all very good and creative.

Wow im really blown away at the talent on this board!

I think enough is enough so I have decided to end this contest early.

A winner will be chosen on tuesday the 4th in the morning.

just my 2 cents: i think your taking the "hook" "up" thing too literally? not only does it make some of the designs look wierd, but for people who make the connection it makes it seem silly as well. maybe i'm wrong. anyway, great contest and good luck @ all!

well i think everyone who put emphasis on the "hookup" has done it in effort to highlight the name and make a catchy, somewhat appealing logo. i have provided both a simple, universal looking logo and an artistic one with a hookup connection. i think it boils down to everyone trying to have fun with it and be as creative with the name as possible... thats just my opinion but i think some of these designs and ideas have been great

When we are referring to hook up Its NOT like the hook you use in fishing but its the hook up of when someone hooks you up with a great deal.

How to portray Hookups in a design is difficult but I do believe that everyone has done a great job trying to make the connection in their own way.

I apologize if I haven’t been able to communicate the idea behind the name better.

Maybe it would be easier if we think in reference to having a connection instead of focusing in the word Hookups

Well, I sure everyone knew what you meant, but they used a fishing hook for the term "hook". Hard to design, but maybe it can be done.

Any comments on my design? I can make a new one if you see alot of modifications to be done.

Here are somes revisions requested regarding color scheme...

First one, maintaining the gardiente background but with a blue colored scheme:

2nd, removing the gradient backgroung and entering colors...

3rd, Just playing around with colors, and covers fantasy, after all, here talking accessories here, right? So, be hooked up!

Remember, the color scheme gives you and idea, and if you have a favourite one, good, we sure can put it in the design. Just tell me.
