I am watching a domain right now that is about to drop in a couple of days. It was registered all the way back in 1999 but it does not have any backlinks. I need some advice from someone who can help me decide what to do in this situation. I want to know if its worth obtaining the domain. My other question is that will this domain be more valuable since it is almost 10 years old even thought there are no backlinks attached to the name? My last question is, will I be able to sell it in the future without any problem since it was registered back 1999. Thanks in advance.

Well if i was u i would have grabbed it :)
its aged, but u will have a change in registrar (possibly)
and the whois age will be counted from the day u reg. so 0 days
BUT......the domain history stays from 1999 (well i love 1996 domains :D)
go ahead mate grab it :)
good luck

Some domains will lose their creation date (therefore almost all of their aged value) when you backorder them. It depends on where the domain is currently registered.

Also 8 year old domains are easy to find but 8 year old domains with good keywords have some value. The more generic sounding the better. Ten year old domains are easier to sell.

If it's dropping its creation date will be reset so vintage is lost.
Age alone does not make a good domain.
No backlinks or history does not mean the domain is bad, if it makes sense.
