This domain is worth low 7 figures USD(end user).
$100K will be a bargain for this type of domain.

@The Durfer nowhere close?
@Sheogorath low 7 figures?
That is a big difference in opinion...

If it was GOLD(dot)com there would be no debate, clearly more than $100k, or?
Bullion includes gold, silver, diamonds, platinum, palladium, copper and more.
So there are more bullion dealers than gold-only dealers. We're talking tens of thousands.

The domain has a huge potential if used in relation to the bullion market.
The domain's exact value is unknown, it depends on the end user.
Though because the domain is unique and refers to exact match highly popular term I believe it is worth at least low 7 figures USD for an end user.

Note: do you own this domain ?
If not then this thread should be in Pre-Purchase Appraisals forum section.

I don't own this domain.
I would like to own this domain, and I posted it to get your opinions on its value.
If it's real value is $100k or above the likelihood is I will never own this domain.
If below $100k the likelihood increases exponentially with every $1,000 removed...

No, but I own very similar domains in dot com. I trust data above all else, period. BUT the NP community continuously surprises me with its background knowledge and ideas in domain names. I come to NP before I search Google with DN questions.

I see.
Well, if the owner doesn't mind selling it for resell price(to domain investor) then I imagine it could be worth high $xx,xxx to low $xxx, xxx.
It really depends how knowledgeable is the owner about the true value of his domain and if he is eager to sell it.
Maybe he could even accept mid $xx,xxx, but I doubt it.
This type of domain is rarely sold(if developed to a popular website it is worth a lot more).

How can you begin negotiations to buy a domain that isn't listed for sale? There's no website or sales listing for this DN. Maybe someone hand-registered it and took a permanent vacation in Hawaii. Before even considering a purchase I need your ideas on value.

So the only way to contact the registrant would be to contact the registrar? ICANN says created 1997 expires 2024, currently with GoDaddy. When you search GoDaddy it says "bullion/com is taken. Domain Broker Service can help you get it. Let Us Help You Get That Domain. Domain Broker Service. We contact the current owner on your behalf. If it's for sale, we'll do all we can to get it for you! €69.99 per domain + commission" I guess is the only way or?

If you will send an email to the Admin Email(you can search the whois and find it) the message will be redirected to the registrant even if the domain is under privacy.
In this case it is: [email protected] (the domain is under privacy).
Note: The domain is forwarding to apmex.com.
You can find more details about them in the about/contact pages or through Google search.

Good luck :)

Valuable but it's currently just being redirected to apmex who is a big player in precious metals online sale. Apparently they don't think the name deserves its own branding and site. I don't think many people are familiar with the term bullion.

It sells well with other extensions.

Lower 6 figures 125000 - 299999

If u can get it for 65000 - 79000 you got a steal

Without doing massive research like I normally do, the below are just rough guesses, not to be taken too seriously:

Bullion.com - $300,000
Titanium.com - $350,000
Silver.com - $900,000
Gold.com - $2,500,000

When you have time @YourBestTrader, I would be very interested in your detailed appraisal of Bullion/com, and I think the DN community would also benefit from it. I don't think it's a straightforward appraisal because it's a high value keyword (PPC) that many people don't understand (22k monthly search volume). Everyone so far has made really useful comments. Really appreciate all your input, both positive and negative. Everyone has something to contribute to this debate. Thanks.

Even a quick appraisal takes a few minutes... A proper appraisal takes much longer... There's around 100 data points to consider after all.

Unless I'm buying a domain myself or getting paid to do an appraisal, then the above estimation is the best I'll be able to provide. Alas the days don't have enough minutes and time is very valuable :)
