10 nurses facing jail for quitting jobs
CNN's Sunny Hostin has the latest Uncovering America report, focusing on the case of 10 nurses under criminal indictment.

That was wrong by all means. But c'mon all 10 quit at the same time with 1 nurse on at the time. You would think a two week notice would be helpful. But where is a union for them.

I know the nurses who quit got legal advice. I just hope their legal counsel can get them off.

What I want to know is if their employment contracts stipulated they must give 2 weeks notice. If it didn't, I don't see how the prosecution has a leg to stand on; as 2 weeks notice is just common courtesy, nothing more.

I am from the Philippines, but the nurses are also in the wrong here. At least one nurse resigns in every two days, just to have time to take care of the patients for humanitarian reasons.

Filipinos has a penchant to complain, this attitude must be the consequence of being a former colony of Spain. Spain imposed slavery and iron fist rule during their regime.

"Humanitarian reasons" doesn't mean "law". Why are they legally in the wrong for quitting?

As there were only ever 1 or 2 nurses on duty at a time, then they didn't endanger the patients by quitting. They were already endangered because of the nursing home not employing enough staff. They are the ones who should be charged, not the nurses, IMO.

I'll bet they were working for a fraction of what Western nurses get paid too. Be interesting to see what happens if it gets to court.

Agreed. This also shouldn't be the state prosecuting...the families of the victims should be taking the nursing home management to court.

The government does too much hand-holding *sigh*
