Golf Domain Heads New DNJournal Top Ten and Some Long (very l-o-n-g) Domains Win Big

The weekly domain sales report is out at DNJournal.com and just in time for this week's U.S. Open, a golf domain lands the top spot on our new Top Ten (at more than $60,000). L-o-n-g is the best word to sum up this week's action. There was an exceptionally long list of solid sales and many of the domains themselves were the longest we've seen in a single report, several running 3 or 4 words and more than two dozen letters!

.Biz heads the New TLD chart again this week (and your humble servant had the four-figure sale at the top of the new extension list). That was offset by seeing a .ws domain I sold for $79 last June resell this week for over $1,200! Read all about it through the link below:

another demonstration that things changes according to the market and that is not true that only 3 names works, only generic words works, only non hyphen works....
Names works if they are good for who buy it.

Size is definitely a factor in general, but overall quality can outweigh a short name.

I was pleased to see the 10k sale of DomainMarketplace.com since I own NameMarketplace.com. Also nice to see divemaster.biz sell, owning divemaster.info which I think is a better TLD for the name.

Of course short names being like raw material, being limited in number, and overall being mostly already established businessess, will generally have an higher value on the market, or better a bigger marketability than other names (I don't know if this word "marketabil ityreally exist....) but no doubt that the market exactly for the reasons expressed above will be more and more dominated that phrases like names and trademark derived names, that mostly very little have to do with dictionary unique world names.

IMHO it is not that it is only IMHO
That's because the way the reality itself it is :)
A good example is shown just here and it is represented by Name Marketplace....(good name in my opinion many x's if developed)....a single world cant' be more effective, that's because the name of the business is that! , Moreover for the same principle for an appraisal it should be scored like single word, or meaningful phrase , anyway full score value and not penalized any way, being just perfect (best of luck for it...) IMHO

I'm glad to see "Long" Domains getting recognition - People will bookmark a long domain if Developed well and easy to remember Just as Quick as a short domain. Hopefully some of the folks who automatically paste "Reg Fees" in the appraisal section will think twice now ...

A Great Read as always Duke :snaphappy: Thanks for all your Time and Efforts ~ It is much appreciated ;)
