Another non sequitur, as expected.

At least you took the time to read some of the excerpts rather than dismissing or outright ignoring. Kudos on you.

Quotes from the same chapter of Mein Kampf describe how people could be induced to believe so colossal a lie because they would not believe that someone "could have the impudence to distort the truth so infamously".
That is the essence of the quote. You yourself have admitted that the American public has been dumbed down, why wouldn't a translation also be simplified in order to digest?

Your source is a century-old quote by a Jewish man that the first 20,000 copies of Mein Kampf contained that statement. Miraculously, not one of those twenty thousand copies has ever been produced to prove it. To the point, if you use common sense, you would understand that a manipulator like Hitler would never say anything so stupid in public, even if he believed it. If you use common sense, you can weed out a lot of fake news.

Did you pay for a subscription to the 1933 NYT article which first posted that quote? Perhaps that was an early example of US propaganda to distract the American public during the rise of Hitler who was appointed Chancellor that year. Who can say for sure where or why those copies were destroyed.

More recently, and perhaps more relevant, are the missing Epstein files. How many Epstein files have been deleted or withheld by DOJ among the than 1 million pages of documents and terabytes of electronic materials recovered? Does that mean that Epstein's associates nor the evidence never existed?

You talk about the Big Lie and Goebbels' statements, which are true. But you don't seem to have absorbed that learning yourself. You just assume it's the other side doing all the lying. And you post a lot of Gung Ho Canada porn that is as ridiculous as the most extreme MAGA propaganda. People in the West are lying to themselves, and it's not helping their situation. In many cases, it's making it irreversible.

Refute if you will... and bring the receipts.

And even if the quote were false, that does not vindicate Trump from saying stupid things, nor those who believed his outrageous lies.

Norway and Denmark used to be one kingdom. Norway and Denmark were united under a dual monarchy known as Denmark–Norway from 1537 to 1814. This union ended when Norway was ceded to Sweden following the Napoleonic Wars. There's quite an interesting backstory to that...

I've never been to Greenland though I have twice been to Iceland. With shared roots, Greenlanders have many characteristics in common with Inuit in Canada such as the predominant language 'Kalaallisut', being similar to 'Inuktitut' (the official language of Northwest Territories and Nunavut). Danish remains the 'unofficial' language, as with many First Nations and English/French.

For instance, Canada geese are now flying back to their nesting grounds... some say "Nika", while Oji-Cree dialects say "Niska". I enjoyed some fresh Nika yesterday following a successful hunt...

That is not the essence of the quote. It's a completely different statement.
You yourself have admitted that the American public has been dumbed down, why wouldn't a translation also be simplified in order to digest?
Any time I've seen the media try to "simplify" a statement to help the readers, they always change it to fit their narrative.
Did you pay for a subscription to the 1933 NYT article which first posted that quote? Perhaps that was an early example of US propaganda to distract the American public during the rise of Hitler who was appointed Chancellor that year. Who can say for sure where or why those copies were destroyed.
You really believe they went out and hunted down and destroyed all 20,000 copies of a book because of this statement? Must have been an early version of Amazon e-books if they could do that.
Refute if you will... and bring the receipts.
I'd be refuting all day, and I do have other things to do.
And even if the quote were false
Now we're getting somewhere.
that does not vindicate Trump from saying stupid things, nor those who believed his outrageous lies.
Stupid things like mistaking World War II for World War 11, or claiming the American Revolution was a proletarian war against the billionaires? Politicians have been saying stupid things and making outrageous lies since the beginning of time. Yet for some reason, people still want more politicians.

I find the debate above between Cannuck and Domainace very interesting.
But I will not complicate the matter by throwing in my opinion.

Debate can be healthy when it doesn't descend into personal criticism (ie. "shooting the messenger") or debasement, a diversion or apologetic excuse, as opposed to critically examining the message itself. Opposition does not always have to be the default position.

Using Hitler's prose on propaganda may be an over-generalization, and any direct correlation construed for the absurd risks being cliché, especially since he was much more intellectual than Trump.

A more appropriate comparison may be drawn from the Canadian writer and philosopher Marshall McLuhan's treatment of propaganda in various forms (ie. Medium is the Message). He was a man ahead of his time.

What is strikingly obvious is how Trump uses media to diminish from the immediate concerns that ordinary people have in their daily lives and/or to distract the public from the problems he creates (if that is indeed his rationale). For example, what is the purpose of posting this crap? It's just garbage for the mind...

Trump, 79, Unloads Avalanche of AI Slop in Truth Social Spiral

On the other hand, it may just be the mumbo jumbo rantings of a degenerate, demented mind. If that were the case, there is definitely cause for concern.

As many others do I follow the debates which quite often is being started by Trump's words.
I am Danish, so I am particular following his many comments about Greenland.

Let me make one thing clear: Greenland is not a colony, and it is not for sale.

Denmark and Greenland are united. But because of the distance and very different climate, then Greenland have members in the Danish parliament, and at the same have their own local parliament.
All people in Greenland are Danish citizens.

Then obviously you can appreciate Canada's position, opposing an America First agenda directed at the Canadian electorate...

@Domainace said, "You talk about the Big Lie and Goebbels' statements, which are true. But you don't seem to have absorbed that learning yourself. In this case, I'm not the only messenger that he offends, but the so called "Gung Ho Canadian porn" described above is in direct rebuke to the MAGA propaganda designed to undermine our country's sovereignty. Perhaps he would have Canada be the 51st state? That's unclear. What is clear, however, is that there are nefarious forces in play, especially with regard to one province which holds vast oil resources that Trump wants, Alberta. There are nine other provinces and three territories, but accordingly they are of no concern.

Here are a couple examples of so-called "Canadian porn"...

This is just as much about unwarranted American influence and interference in Canadian politics as it is about the issue of a referendum. I've met Charlie, even voted for him once in a provincial election. He's a fire-brand to be sure, but I know that his heart is in the right place.

Claus may be theatrical at times, but his posts are as entertaining as they are informative. I don't agree with everything he says, but his breakdown and analysis is spot on in most cases (and he references data to back up his assertions).

I've also noticed that there are some new MAGA accounts promoting videos on YT antithetical toward his position. They claim to be Canadian, but their video descriptions make it apparently clear they are American-based, examples of a vast array of propaganda employed by foreign actors that CBC recently exposed as well.

How do I personally know? Spelling is one clear giveaway (ie. neighbor vs neighbour; color vs colour; honor vs honour; behavior vs behaviour; centre vs center; litre vs liter; cancelled vs canceled; criticise vs criticize; authorise vs authorize; defence vs defense, dialogue vs dialog; skeptical vs sceptical and so on). Canadians commonly favour British English over US English which may not always hold true, but are generally used in practice.

This is the MAGA playbook my friends.

JBlions Cannuck....you all the best...

Democrats raised my social security payments and lower my Medicare costs
Republicans raise all costs
Under Biden,I got 50lbs of jasmine rice at $35 and durian at 99cent per lb and 35cent per Mango
Under Trump, jasmine rice is $100, mango $2 each and $5 per lb for durian

Under Republicans

people got no food to eat..hungry
no medical care
not getting paid..
latinos and brown people getting deported ...even they are legal

so why do people want to vote for Republicans?
please explain!!! the damage is
already there

What have the Republicans done for me so far??
Give me the data

Under Biden, the stock market would be in the 60000 by now

Gas prices $8.50 per gal..

This is happening everywhere, in every sphere and every country. People everywhere are going to have to adapt to that. Aside from social media, being a weaker country next to a more powerful country is always going to be a position where you don't have total control. The solution is to make your country stronger. America is growing weaker so that should help you in that regard.

That is not completely reliable, as you say, and it is becoming less reliable by the day, especially in the West. In any case it would be easy enough to prompt AI to use the British English.

I think that Alberta joining the US is just a MAGA fantasy anyway. There are few advantages to joining the US these days, as a nation or as a citizen. That could change but right now it's not a very attractive proposition. That's why rich people aren't exactly knocking down the doors for Trump's golden visa.

Status report: US Senator warns US munitions ‘shockingly’ depleted by Iran war

Senator Kelly is now under judiciary investigation for sedition regarding illegal orders video, Hegseth vowed further investigation for "blabbing" about weapons depletion, saying it will take years for US to bring stockpile back to pre-Iran war level on Face the Nation.

Europe is developing own military strategy and arms procurement without US involvement:

Canada joined SAFE Action program with EU partners including bilateral space program with Norway along with Nordic nations defence program, submarine and armoured vehicle procurement and production with S.Korea and Germany, over horizon radar system from Australia, Swedish Gripen fighter jets and Global Eye AWACS made at home to compliment F-35's purchased from US...

The amount of weapons in the arsenal is plenty. We can blast away for years and not run out.

That said, the Dem needs to learn his place and stfu about national security. Hopefully he’s taught a lesson.

Cannuck wrote above: "Europe is developing own military strategy and arms procurement without US involvement"
The participating European countries are in general in agreement about the military strategy, aiming in particular about an effective defense. We call our secretaries: "Secretary of Defense" not "Secretary of War".
Another European tradition is to send "Peacekeeping Force" to countries who are in need. This has in particular been to "The Middle East" and "Africa"

Dems running scared. They steal for years from the average American and can’t get on stage to defend themselves.

Now consider that only about 66% actually voted. Joe and the Dems stole the election with fake ballots.

We call our secretaries: "Secretary of Defense" not "Secretary of War".

In Canada, like most countries who oppose aggression, call it the Department of Defence. However, some countries used to call it Ministry of War such as France, Brazil and Japan. US formerly called it Dept. of War (1789–1947); UK (1747–1857), then War Office (1857–1964).

Iran calls it the Revolutionary Guard. Their incentive is based on spirituality... being a martyr for the cause is the highest reward. In fact, the Iranian hardliners do not differ that much from far-right populists in the West, both have nationalistic and religious motivation.

Besides national interests, I see three religious doctrines in conflict: Christian evangelicals, Islamic fundamentalists and Jewish Zionists.

That's fuzzy math... there were 168.3 million registered voters in US in 2020, not 155M.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/273743/number-of-registered-voters-in-the-united-states/?

That's also a misleading statement, it's not 66% of registered voters, but 66.8% of eligible citizens 18 years and older voting in the election, according to voting and registration tables released by the U.S. Census Bureau...

Care to explain your math? 😂

Eligible citizens doesn't equal registered voters. Figure it out yourself, doesn't mean anything to me. :-P
