The .PRO Discussion

It seems .PRO is slowly coming out of the cage with cheaper reg prices than they were a year ago and major registrars like netsol taking notice of the extension and promoting it.

Here are some that I picked up in last couple of days:

Alexandria.pro

Anchorage.pro

Arlington.pro

Belfast.pro

Birmingham.pro

Budapest.pro

Durham.pro

Fairfax.pro

Italian.pro

Lisbon.pro

Fire away with your regs after the relaunch on September 8th, 2008.

100% DLS.
It was purchased at GoDaddy.
I have no doubts.

You may even ask Afternic - if you are interested in this confirmation.

My current 2018 .PRO results:
5 sales (~$730 per domain on average).
2 of 5 - Non-English.
3 of 5 - 4L domains.

+ sold a few domains to another domainer... ~$200 each.

I keep wondering how you do it

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 6, 2018

I do nothing special...
Good domains (1 word only & perspective 4L) + Bodis/ParkingCrew + Negotiations.
That's all I do.

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 6, 2018

And I still without sales to US buyers in 2018...
For unknown reason...
2017 was absolutely another... a few US inquiries monthly.

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 6, 2018

Those 2018 endusers = Russia (2, both Non-Moscow), Ukraine, Qazaqstan, Israel.

Probably, because ZERO .PROmotion by GoDaddy and Name.com this year.

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 6, 2018

This week somebody from Switzerland was ready to buy my SPEND for high $XXX - I rejected this offer.

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 7, 2018

Don't forget that ~$1 increase on Sep'1 for Renewal/Transfer.
So renew/transfer them now...

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 7, 2018

Sedo reported $5K sale of Gambling.PRO (2006-2020).
Russian buyer.

name.com does not support privacy for .pro domains?

Yes.
Reg .PRO at NameCheap for $2.06 (FREE Privacy).

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 9, 2018

$0.99
name.com
I guess, this price will be active this week only or maximum until Jul'31.

Yey, cheap domains

And volume also matters...
If you own just 10-20 domains - your chances are ~0.

MasterGuru · Jul 18, 2018

Gues, do you know what is the wholesale price of Afilias Registry for Registrars for .PRO domains (transfers/renewals)?

Jurgen Wolf · Jul 18, 2018

~$9 or even $9.XX
And ~$1 increase will be on Sep'1.
