your better off asking these questions directly with customer support of companies who offer dedicated servers!

It seems as you are trying to embed the videos, there may not be legal issues due to adult content. Yeah it is better to short list some providers and communicate with their sales to find whether they will be able to meet your needs.

What did you use for this previously? I think your previous web host have sent you some suggestions regarding that?

Out of curiosity, what sort of budget do you have for this site?

A Dual Xeon or Core 2 Duo server should be suitable. I'd recommend 4GB RAM. Most servers come with a 200GB+ HDD these days. Perhaps use nginx or lighttpd instead of Apache for optimal efficiency.

Good to hear that you had found one meeting your requirements. I hope things go all well with them. Come back and update us about their services after some period of time.

Yes, i think 200-300 connection at once could be handled by a vps, but for 1,5k a dedicated server is better.
Let us know how's going.

100tb.com has good reputation and is famous for the high bandwidth offers.

But if you are only embedding the videos, do you really need such powerful server ? I'm assuming that the streaming will be done by the original video server. So the major cpu processing and bandwidth will be handled by them.

the thing is that there a few hours a day which the requests per seconds are very high , the basic dedicated sever at hostagtor could not handle it and would crush during those hours so moving to 100tb was the next step for this site .

small update : after a small delay server has been setup ( was suppose to be 24 max - took actually 32 hr )
and dns had been changed , will keep you update on the performance .

You could try to hire a server admin and have him setup caching (Varnish) or use nginx to serve the static content.

I think that would be cheaper to hire admin from the same company you take server from
