Hey Folks,

I've just started using squadhelp.com to list some of my brandable. So far I have 76 domains listed, there is no fee to list. I've had some decent action so far in the way of interested buyers but no sales as of yet. I've only been with them for 1 week now.

A bit of a summary review of SquadHelp:

PROS
  • No Listing fee
  • No Logo design fee
  • Ability to submit your names to end users holding naming contests
  • Ability to chat directly or send a message directly to end users.
  • Stats of your marketplace domains are shown in the marketplace dashboard.
  • Their customer service and support has been great, 24hr a day chat.
  • Ability to increase or decrease the list price of your domains or to show a discount. You can decrease or increase the price yourself by $200. If you want to lower more, you can contact support.
  • End users can shortlist your domains before they make a decision on which they want to purchase. The number of shortlists is shown in you marketplace dashboard.
  • When you submit your names you get to set the price you wish to get. Because their commissions are high I recommend listing at a higher price to offset the commission costs.
  • Their landing pages are fairly basic but they work. Because the marketplace is fairly new, I'm sure we will see style improvements in the future.
  • One thing I really like is they accept multiple extensions. I have listed .co and .io along with .com
  • Each seller gets a direct link to their marketplace portfolio, HERES MY PORTFOLIO. It is handy if your trying to p[promote your portfolio through social media.
  • I like that their marketplace doesn't have tens of thousands domain listings like BB. They are fairly strict on the domains they accept to list and so this helps keep the number of domains in the marketplace down and gets your listings more exposure.
CONS
  • Their commissions are very high, depending on the domain name they are usually between 30% and 35%. However, there are no listing fees, no logo design fees, so in the end their commission is very similar to brand buckets.
  • Their logos are not top quality, in fact I requested to have some of my logos remade.
  • I think they have a big backlog of logos to design, the wait time for logo design has been around 1 week, but your names are still listed while the logos are being designed.
  • After your names are accepted you need to agree to their commission rate, at this point you also need to apply your own keywords, descriptions etc. I found this was very time consuming.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
I don't think it's just you, I have this and no sales in ~5.5 months as well

Maybe we need to start taking part in contests, IDK, but looks like this is a common type of performance..

and i think all these numbers are just fake, here you can see :
upload_2020-10-27_13-52-16.png

numbers go up and down in exactly same proportion on exactly same dates.

and I compared with another person - same here, for completely different portfolios and types of names - views and shortlists go up and go down roughly the same on same dates for everyone, this can't be legit.

we all have different type of names but somehow statistically they show we have proportionally same views\shortlists and ups\downs in numbers..

@GrantP long time ago we were promised a possibility to pick our favorite logo designer (it's stated here: https://www.squadhelp.com/marketplace-benefits under standard benefits). Any idea when this feature will be live? I'm reaaaaally looking forward to it, because I'm really tired of dealing with designers who completely ignore any guidance I give and don't seem to care about the negative ratings.

Bu the way, other sellers are requesting this feature too: https://squadhelp.com/t/designer-and-classifier-requests/9210

I submited a domain and got rejected but doesn't show the votes

Why a domain could not show the votes?

No trademarks and the quality is acceptable

Squadhelp Review update October 2020 Brandaim.com

Hey folks, October was much better for us then September. In September brandaim had "0" sales to report for squadhelp premium.

Here are our sales from October:

Premium Sales

Nordiqo.com - $1599 - 12 month instalment plan
Vista9.com - $1399 - full bin purchase
Vaaxa.com - $1649 - 6 month instalment plan

SH WLM Sales

HealingEveryNation (com) - $2500

I was having some issue in October with setting things up in my WLM using google sheets and during that time had switched things back to dan.com. Now everything again is pointing to my brandaim wlm. Currently i have not enabled the make offer feature and am offering buy it now only with instalment plan option.

As you can see, the sale prices for October were all <$2000. After not having any sales in September, i reduced most of my pricing that was just over $2000 to just under $2000 and enabled the discounts on auto pilot option.

CURRENT STATS

I am still not sure why my shortlists/views % is so low. The only thing i can attribute it to is the overwhelming competition in the marketplace and over saturation.

I am still waiting for a big ($) sale at squadhelp, to date my highest price sale has been $4499.

Happy Halloween, good luck to all in November with your sales.

Hey everyone,
Been a good while since I posted anything, but I have been working my way back into the active domain game...

I have shifted in the sense I am not aiming towards random brandables these days as much and more working towards a profile of quality names that a buyer is more likely to seek out specifically. I am not looking to list these names.

None-the-less I am still acquiring some brandables and kept many over the years that I feel are quality in their own right. I had great success with BB years ago, had no issues with management, but moved away to test different waters. I am happy with my move, but do have some brandables that would be more at home in a marketplace for exposure.

Been catching up on some NPs reading, and seems most people may have migrated to SH from BB?
Can any of the old timers mind telling me of their experience at SH versus BB and what makes it better?
I have submitted a couple of names to see how this company operates, but for me - the experience of you guys will speak loudly.

Yes I have read all 85 pages, but hard to extract much but Judgemind's personal experience and the normal argument over review processes that brandable marketplaces have to deal with.

(sidenote from reading: STR IMHO is best calculated by using days listed math. But their new STR seems much closer to reality than their old method of STR)

So what say you guys? Another random oversaturated marketplace, a BB equivalent, or better and why?

Thanks,
Michael M.

If sell thru rates continue to drop closer to the industry standard 2-3% range, then looking for lower commission listing options will be a must.

^-This being key. What kind of (realistic) STRs are people achieving at SH these days? Do you feel the marketplace is giving your names exposure?

Also has anyone had good success selling "top end" brandables for top end prices at SH?

Seems maybe you have not @JudgeMind ?

My annualized STR is 2.1% at SH which is nowhere near reported 4% (or above) by others, currently I have 271 premium names. I may consider moving to other platform for lower commission but I am not sure if I can get an STR between 1% to 2% if I use Dan or Afternic for my lenders.

I have 1.46% STR , pretty much dead for me... Even Renewals are tough now with 240+ listings

views and shortlists go up and go down roughly the same on same dates for everyone, this can't be legit.

This is generally to be expected, reflecting overall traffic patterns to the site.

Wednesday and Thursday are naturally the most popular days, while things cool off as the week ends/begins.

I've also been able to use views/shortlists data to predict sales with a high degree of accuracy so I doubt the numbers are invented.

Do you mind sharing your method for using views/shortlists to predict sales?

My strongest predictor of a sale is when a CH, with a closed contest and no winner selected yet, views the landing page of your premium name that was not submitted to the contest. In my experience, it indicates that the CH may not be satisfied with the handreg options submitted to the contest and is shopping for a premium name.

I just discovered the Domain History Checker (www.squadhelp.com/check-domain-history) and I think it's a great tool. It let's you know if a domain name has been previously submitted to SH as premium and the past decisions on the name. Very useful if you intend to purchase or handreg a name solely for SH.

For my portfolio, I've found that a large % increase (+10% or more) in total views over one day is the best indicator of a coming offer or sale.

This likely wouldn't work for very large portfolios. For these, we would need to be able to easily track one day % change in views for each domain.

Can someone please confirm if I'm not the only one confused by their infographics?

I've reached out to them with suggestions to change many-many times with no luck, so thought maybe it's just me?

Ok, look :

NqWRZtF.jpg

The flow of the time is done correctly on lower X axis - blue arrow, time flows from left to right.

On the upside for whatever reason - red arrow time is displayed from right to left.

So if you want to see a stat for Thursday you need to diagonally check and see (orange arrow) the number from bottom right to upper left corner..

Why not just make both X axis run towards same side and let time flow from left to right (green arrows-switch days)

I saw that @GrantP addressed this in SH forum thread. He said that SH decided to hold off on this for now. Mainly because Logo Designers are not on SH all the time and SH does not have any way to determine or manage their availability.

While I completely understand their reasoning I believe this issue could be easily solved by letting sellers select several designers they like (say up to 5) and change their preferences whenever they feel they need to.

@ALDaisy1 what do you think?

Yes, @NameWell, that seems like a good solution. Any way to encourage designers and also expert classifiers to do their best work would be beneficial, imo. As far as delays, I think most sellers would be willing to trade a little extra wait time for a better result.

@ALDaisy1 Exactly. I would be more than happy to wait several days for an appropriate logo that makes sense to the name and categories I have assigned to it (and thus increases its chances of being purchased) rather than get a random crappy logo in a few hours after the name is live.

I think that the current system is vulnerable because designers get paid regardless of the quality of their work while sellers are stuck with two options: rate it "no, thank you" and hope for a small miracle or take the risk of paying to get the logo redesigned with absolutely no guarantee that the new logo will be any better. And that is on top of everything else we're already paying for (coin submissions, registrations, renewals, SH commission and optionally classification, boosts, super boosts, extra marketing, WLM logos etc.)

Same here. Probably half of the time I'm not happy with the logo and even also after redesign

I think that the solution is SH allow sellers to be able to upload their own logos as we know what we want

You can do this if you get approved as a logo designer.

I hope our feedback will be taken into consideration.

Also, here's a relevant active forum thread on Squadhelp: https://squadhelp.com/t/sh-is-improving-but-logos-are-not/9267/2

SH still dead end for me , No sale no movement , no offers with 245 listings , very disappointed with the results now ...

I like the cutting edge web design on squadhelp and the fact that they advertise so they can bring new buyers in. I am not thrilled though if you pay for a premium listing and it gets accepted, then you basically lose all control over the price and it's almost impossible to get your domain out of there if you decide later to sell it for more or less. Meanwhile, after they've trapped your domain, if you watch the prices on SEDO, turncommerce will bring in other domains to undercut your domain price with the same keywords while SH has trapped your domain at that price. And they get mad at you and penalize you if you remove you premiums because they say they had to invest time in the logo. Just my opinion but they do have a cool website.

i have been a seller at squadhelp since they were small with just 12,000 or so names in their portfolio. I have noticed over the last year a significant reduction in exposure for my portfolio. I understand it’s important to spread the exposure across all sellers and respect this. I do believe that although STR are dropping, squadhelp does have a pool of buyers that is quite different from other marketplaces and many of the sales I’ve made would not have sold as quickly through afternic or sedo. Being a larger portfolio holder, I’m on the cusp of failing in my business at squadhelp as sales are currently only paying renewal fees. After having pretty good success with Squadhelp early on, I scaled from around 100 premium listings to close to 600 now with hopes that more listings would equate to more frequent sales. Because there is so much competition in the marketplace and exposure of my portfolio has been greatly reduced the frequency of sales has not increased and the majority of sales are occurring around the $1500 mark. That being said, earlier on in my time with Squadhelp, my average sales were around $2000. More competition is forcing sellers to be more competitive in their pricing which in turn has resulted in a very large selection of names available to buyers for lower pricing. I’d like to see Squadhelp set a min price point for all of their names around $2000 instead of the $1299-$1399 min pricing they currently allow.

realistic sell thru rates for my portfolio and at least one of the bigger portfolio holders that I’ve spoken with is between 2-4%. There was a blitz of high priced 4L com sales a few months ago at squadhelp but these don’t seem to hot anymore, I’d still suggest them though. As for high end brandables, I believe squadhelp is one of the best places to list these and sales reports have shown these sell for great prices and are likely to sell relatively quickly compared to made up 6-7L names.
