These are people who take joy at verbally abusing others and who want to turn every discussion into a fight and by doing so they are standing in the way of informative and constructive debate and exchange of ideas. It seems that they never have anything positive to contribute to the discussions and they can not bear to see someone else having a different opinion than them. The end result is that they are causing for so many of the real experts in domaining to stay away from participating here and as such are doing a disservice to all the people who are here to learn how to become a successful but responsible and conscientious domainer.

Those who can not engage in respectful, professional, and proper interactions with other members here should not be given free rein over the forum.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
  • It doesn't mean we will all handle subjective matters the same way because everyone has their own perspective and life experiences that cannot be removed from our interpretation of certain situations.

Thanks for your thorough and thoughtful response.

As I had already suggested earlier perhaps you can put a mechanism in place that allows the moderators and the staff to consult with one another and vote on what needs to be done about repeated and sensitive situations that perhaps are and should be beyond the judgment of just one person to handle alone.

We need to create an atmosphere here on the forum that protects the Newbies who want to be Conscientious and Righteous domainers and that is welcoming to all the members old and new who are bringing value to the domaining community and the Industry at large through their contributions.

If you allow certain members to continue with derailing every thread because of personal vendettas or that the fact that they just can't bear to hear any opinions that don't match their own political, religious (or lack thereof), racial , and economical agendas and interests, then the bad guys are going to win and the good guys are going to want to stay away from the forum and that is exactly the opposite of what we are trying to achieve here.

Hello,

We think (and hope) that this will help:
We are actively thinking about how it should work, discussing it, and expect development on it to begin soon.

A lot of control (and guidance) will soon be in the hands of the community's most helpful members.

If you have any ideas relating to it (e.g., how it should work), please share them in that thread.

Thanks.

In my opinion one thing that could help is for you to appoint or elect some Deputy Moderators and give high priority for any situation that is reported by them and take immediate action to address their concerns about the comments and threads that they have found to be inappropriate in some way. Although the final decision still rests with the actual Mods and the Management, but the Deputies can make the job of the Mods easier by reporting what needs immediate attention by the Mods.

You probably need about 25 to 50 Deputies to cover all the threads at all hours and you can give them a special Deputy Badge to go along with their title too. (just an idea)

I personally can't commit to this idea due to my health conditions, but some of the Conscientious and Righteous domainers who hang around the forum all the time might make good candidates for this program.
