Brandbucket submission times

I'm writing a brief note to ask if anyone else has any domains submitted with brandbucket presently, the last ones I submitted took exactly three weeks for review.

The second batch were submitted over three weeks ago and still not reviewed. I messaged support to ask for current turnaround times and got a generic response I got last time about it normally being 78 hours but they're very busy. I asked some further questions which were totally misunderstood then I asked again on current turnaround times and that message wasn't answered.

I also searched brandbucket for one of my listed domains. It doesn't show up anywhere in any of the categories I think it should be and it's supposed to be in. It doesn't even show up if you put the actual domain word in the search!

Really unimpressed with their service and presume the merger is taking up resources and too many submissions. I'm thinking of just not using them anymore.

I’m at 12 days now for last submissions. I hope it’s not a 3-4 week turn around now?

I got a response the next day. They are saying 3-4 weeks. I'm currently on 23 days

Thanks, that’s a long wait for sure!

22 days. 1 of 7 approved. Can’t complain though since highest recommended listing price I’ve gotten.

I had 3 agreed from 9 submitted. However, the 3 that were agreed I replied to same day and they're still sitting and waiting in editorial so not listed yet. They've been sitting there for between 4 and 7 days now.

Thanks. I’m on day 2 of pending editorial. Keep me posted on timing, curious how long this will run. Ideally would want published before next week’s email that goes out.

Similar timeline for myself.

I read that a 24% sale of all brands over a year. I'm happy to wait if its a 1/4 chance on around $4000 average sale price.

Just wish you could negotiate with more of a price range. I guess it sets a standard.

I think there are a few things that could improve Brandbucket, for example they don't ask you your brand ideas prior to submission either so they are reviewing the name blind without any indication of what it could be used for. They then agree it blind and ask you what you think of the brand and what you think could be completely different to what the reviewer priced it on. There is obviously some room for movement on the price because you have the slider and you have option to challenge on it but it's far from ideal. At the end of the day that's the price you pay for getting in a market which potentially has more eyes than your domain sitting there being seen by no-one that's great. I would imagine their sell through rate will decrease substantially over the coming months/years as they bring in all the additional names from the merger but I would hope it still remains reasonable. I fully expect those domains to potentially sit on there for some time and may not sell at all. I will only use BB for a portion of the domains I own, I think that spreading around between BB, SH, Sedo, Direct to consumer etc will give me the best chance of something landing and not leave me reliant on any one channel. The other way to look at is that if that's the highest sell through channel you should do everything through there but I prefer to hedge my bets with various approaches

FYI guys, in addition to the 4 week wait for review/approval they're now advising the editorial times are up to two weeks so it's a minimum of 6 weeks from submission to actual listing presently. Obviously those times can improve (or get worse!)
