Booze (dot) com...

What do you think about it? It’s not mine, but I was previously asked to broker it.

OK I don't know is my expert opinion :xf.cool: but that usually does not stop me from commenting (even though I don't drink at all :xf.wink: so don't know booze really) so....

Booze is pretty popular term (50 million Google results) but to me it is almost like a slang term so I have trouble seeing a high profile company, who would pay much, wanting it. Maybe for some kind of site with links? As part of a domain name it has sold 10 times, but only 3 of them (2 in same name BoozeCruise) have cracked $1000.

I guess it depends on price expectations of seller. It would sell but imho not as much as most single generic words.

Bob

PS edit: Although GoValue says it is worth $24k and apparently weed(.)com that I would regard as somewhat similar sold for more than $25k (anyone know the exact price?)

I don't like it.

it has only one application and connotation and it expresses it with negative vibe... or as BOB said it correctly imo.. as a slang.

hopefully you will or were offered more interesting names than this to broker

I don’t like to broker names, so I have actually just done it once. This time it was the other way around. It was sold to the same guy with the booze name.

Yeah, but I bought the booze with the money instead.

but not his booze. I prefer the non-digital version.

Booze has a rugged feel to it. I like it. I think it can go a lot of different directions. Drunk humor perhaps.

Booze could be a headhunters business name. Turn to Booze where we find you a better career.

Definitely a "liquid" domain.

What comes to mind are a group of college kids getting tipsy lol.
But I think the name has value...5 figures possibly.

I dig it.

While may not be a great name for a booze company... would certainly be a great name for a booze blog/magazine, etc. or even online store.

I like it. With uber eats and lyft maybe getting into the food delivery space, going beyond into a booze delivery app is foreseeable. Most of the time people drinking will pay a lot for delivery, as they don't want to drive.

I could also see a social app showing local popular drinking spots.

But brokering a name like that would be a tough one.

I can't predict the value but it's something I would like to own & sit on it. Booze wow it's just me or all of you having a good taste when telling it aloud.

I disagree here. Can you image kids ordering booze with parents account and getting it delivered? Underaged drinking will work soooooo well.

I was wondering about use of the term over the years. At least in books, according to Googles Ngram viewer, the term kept increasing in popularity up until 2004, only decreasing a bit in the last few years. You can see the results at this link.

Wondering where the term came from? This article has some interesting speculations.

This museum in NY would be a nice match for the domain name, but maybe not at the price your client expects.

I think this is a good call. The majority of developed sites with "booze" in their name appear to be alcohol delivery services.

Or how about a business that presumably sprang for a premium domain already:

https://www.liquor.com/

I agree with those who say finding a buyer could prove tricky, but definitely doable if you put the work in and think outside the box a bit. It's a single word with a clear meaning after all.

You must be smoking some because weed.com is clearly a top domain.
