Sedo - How do you make money on that platform?

Question for the community. In my many years of selling I've never achieved a sell on Sedo. Which is too bad because I think my domains are right up there alley in terms of price and strength i.e. I have Baltics.co listed for $3000, Curfew.co for $2850, Ashdod.co (city in Israel - Israel used .co.il TLD) $3000.

Is there a secret? Do you pay for a showcase? A category showcase? Are we listing too high? Frustrating to see .co Sedo domain sales on NameBio in the $1000-$3000 range. I would love to get rid of the domains I know I will not develop in this range or even high $xxx range.

Thoughts?

Those just aren't good domains. First, they're .cos. Never heard of Ashdod, some random city. Curfew Company? What does that even mean.

There are .co sales at Sedo - https://namebio.com/?s==QTM3EDOzgTM

Then prices too high. Look what's selling there and the prices they're selling for.

From this month at Sedo, all less than what you're asking for Baltics:

store.co - 2,855 USD
holiday.co - 2,850 USD
legal.co - 2,500 USD
bets.co - 1,700 USD
accounting.co - 1,610 USD
gamble.co - 1,000 USD
cabs.co - 1,000 USD
venturecapital.co - 999 USD
answer.co - 999 USD
survey.co - 999 USD

Thanks for the truth! I have others maybe not as bad on the platform. Strangely curfew and Baltics gets traffic. Ashdod may be better in terms of finding an end user since its a port and beach city.

Wow. Got it!

Your prices seem high to me. Also, the default layout doesn't show a "For Sale" message when the client is using a ad-blocker. You need to change the layout to search, social blue, or lite.

I would lower the price, then reach out by email to people you think should be interested in your names. Also, list them on Godaddy.com, Afternic, etc.

There is no secret, it's all about the domains.
If somebody wants them, then they will find them no matter where they are parked.

But I don't know what kind of business would buy Curfew.co and for what purpose. End users have so much choice on the market...

Just one thing: people browsing in incognito mode or using adblockers may see a blank page... you should test your own domains.

if you look at the .co sales in the last 12months,
the volume is just going down

new gtld affected the .co & .net sales very hard in the last couple years,
while .com is still the reference

We've achieved sales on Sedo particularly when a domain has a market reasonable BN purchase price.

The names are there, the names are reasonably BN priced and I primarily operate there under a " take it or leave it " premise. Most BN prices are low-mid $xxxx.

Nowadays, once in a while, particularly if I see a " spike " in visitors for a domain, I may change a BN to a
" Make Offer " to tempt any returning visitors that really want the name to, make their offer.

Have received several offers that way although none were sales resultant.

Then back the domain goes to it's former BN price.

At present no use of showcasing, etc., the names stand alone and sell or stand and wait for a buyer, sometimes for years.

For the most part , whenever possible , my BN prices are the results of well researched comps.

So true. The only use I could think of would be some sort of mobile app. Thanks again.
