Hello,

I've been around domains for years, but only now getting my portfolio in order. Last year I went to NamesCon and enjoyed a great learning experience. I'm an IT guy and part time web developer that wants to explore the world of domaining. Being an IT professional has been a great ride, but domains have always peaked my interests.

Thx! Mopho

Hi .. and Welcome to NamePros! :)

You went to NamesCon before joining NamePros? lol .. Doubt there's many who've done it in that order! How did you enjoy it? Did you leave with a lot more info than you did going in?

Best of luck to you going forward! :)

NamesCon 2017 was awesome! I met a lot of people. But to be honest I would have gotten more out of it if I hangout on domaining forums first. I was able to (briefly) bounce ideas off some very interesting people like Akram Atallah, Matt Mullenweg & a few others. I've been to my share of IT and hosting related conferences and NamesCon easily had the most informative speakers. I didn't feel like I was being giving a sales pitch. Most of the experienced domainers I did have a chance to speak with all gave me similar advice; I needed to look at things less from an IT perspective and work with how things are now and not about how things might play out. I couldn't make it this year, but I hope to be there next year.
