Unfortunately, I purchased few domain names which are relevant to trademark.

Some domain experts are saying that, " You have wasted money by buying these domains". but Godaddy support team saying that " You can sell these domains in offline...but not with us".

Which one is correct? I have 2 valuable trademark domains. Please guide me.

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.
It’s ironic how GoDaddy has no problem selling trademarked names when they are the ones selling it. As for your situation no way to give advice without knowing the name and you shouldn’t post the names here,

Bottom line is you cannot approach the trademark owner and cannot have ads on a landing page that in any way reflects back to them or their competitors.

You say they are valuable. How valuable is something that causes you to possibly get a UDRP at any moment? Unless a one word very generic word that multiple companies would want it’s not worth the hassle.

I think both are correct, basically telling you to avoid such domains
1. is direct, tells you not to invest in such names
2. is indirect, they say you cannot sell with them (in other words, if you want to sell on GD, don't invest in such names)

In both cases, they cannot stop you from selling the names.

Why did you purchase the names?

Drop them asap and learn from it. You cannot register TM names and you certainly cant sell them. Ignore what GD say, that is rubbish.

Owning and selling TM names is what gives this industry a bad name

Good luck

GoDaddy and other registrars are not actually 'selling' these domains. Before a domain gets registered by you, it's just a combination of letters and there can be billions of combinations of letters and they are all available for registration. What you do when you register a particular domain is not pay an asking price but a fee to register that domain. You cannot blame anyone but yourself when you register a trademarked domain.

Yes. You are absolutely correct @Haris

My domain names are combination of few letters with TM names.
For example : existing company name +meaningful word.
Even I am not that I can share thoaenames in this forum or not. Else I am ready to share those names.

As I mentioned in my previous reply, I was not aware about this TM issues and more overI am not blaming anyone here.

If you registered these domains knowing about the trademarks, with the intent to resell, you most likely have already infringed on the trademark (ie MicrosoftSucks.com). These kind of domains you should delete immediately from your Registrar Account.

If you registered/bought a domain which has multiple trademarks registered by multiple companies. Then provided you have not infringed on any of those trademarks, you are perfectly entitled to own and sell these domains. In fact it can be a lucrative revenue stream. But it's debatable if the reason you bought the domain was because of the trademarks, whether you have already infringed on their trademark. The problem comes when you try to offer such a domain to a trademark owner. It's best to be a passive seller of these kinds of domains. And/Or have deep pockets for any potential future litigation.

Selling trademarked domain names can be fraught with problems if a potential client thinks they have the only legitimate rights to the domain. You are probably looking at receiving law suits. Which is why the general advisory from most domainers is to drop any trademarked domains.

<<I have 2 valuable trademark domains.>>
Are they valuable in your opinion because they have this trademarked term in them, or intrinsically?

I don't know if this post was directed to me, or generally. But I would ask what is it that makes these domains valuable? I would suggest it's the popularity of the trademark terms. But I could be wrong. Anyhow. It's up to the trademark owners to protect their trademarks. Failing to do so could invalidate their trademark. But only they can decide on the merits of their case. We shouldn't be speculating about it. IMHO.

I was asking the OP.

<<But I would ask what is it that makes these domains valuable?>>

Exactly yes, my question for the OP too.
