which domain would you say is more valuable:

Apartment.com or Condo.com?

Understand "apartment" is globally recognizeable, while "condo" might be more tailored towards the American market; the same way Brits (and most europeans for that matter) use the term "flat" to refer to an apartment.

Condo and Flat are shorter keywords but do you think that makes them
More valuable?

apartment . . . not even close

For both of them, I would prefer the plural. However, if I had to choose I would pick Apartment.com because it is broader and more recognizable to a wider range of population groups.

Where I am (Canada)...

"Apartment" usually means low-cost buildings that are only available for rent (no purchase option). They're fairly outdated, and I haven't heard of any new apartment developments in years.

They usually look like this:

"Condo" usually means buildings that are available for purchase or rent (by owner). They're more modern and feature various amenities like, a swimming pool, fitness room, 24 hr. security, etc.

They usually look like this:

...so, for that reason, I would go for Condo/Condos.com. :)

.com always rules but i as European prefer apartment / apartments. Condo is more American i think. Stated above as the Canadian thought here in The Netherlands an apartment doesn't define height or value. There are only 2 types in en lowrise/highrise which is apartment or penthouse

Apartment.com is far more outstanding

I think Condo.com has higher value. The value of an apartment lease is not very high. For example, a $1,000/mo rental might only be worth $1,000 in profit to a broker. As such, the amount they'd be willing to pay in advertising - or for a domain name - isn't that high.

Condos on the other hand can sell for $1 million or more. A 6% commission means a broker is making $60,000 on a single sale. That's a lot more money to work with.

In other words, a website about condos can make more money than a website about apartments. So I think the condo domain is worth more.

I second Condo.com. It still makes sense to us the British, and it gives the feeling of a modern, premium place.
