Freelancer is Killing Escrow.com

Since the company was bought by Freelancer, most all the leaders are long gone especially after they ditched their location in LA moving to San Fran. - many people likely got laid off, people don't just up & leave they have families and others who work. Apparently, there is only 1 manager, Brian, who can do anything because the support is absolutely worthless. Brian has terrible service as well, he refuses to talk to clients on the phone and is traveling all the time and it took him over a week to get back to my emails.

Their award for BBB Award for Ethics this year is a F****ing joke, it's akin to giving a Nobel Peace Prize to a warlord. They have lots of complaints online! @BBB How much did they have to pay for that? They Obviously did NOT Earn it! They are a very corrupt Escrow company and just because you own a category killer domain does not mean you can't & wont throw your clients under the bus at every turn.

Escrow.com is not the same company it was, Freelancer is running this company into the ground just like they are doing with Freelancer which has an ENDLESS # of complaints. I have been using Escrow.com for a decade now and after such terrible service, it's time to jump ship as I have nothing, but bad things to say about them now. This company is an absolute disaster, i can only imagine how bad it must be within the company.

I have no affiliation with Escrowdomains.com, but at this point, I think I will use them for all future transactions.

According to DNJournal, "Greenberg & Lieberman (G & L) has long been of the best known and most often called upon intellectual property law firms in the domain industry. The Washington D.C. based firm's high profile in our business can largely be credited to attorney Stevan Lieberman's presence at key domain conferences ever since they began with the first T.R.A.F.F.I.C. show in 2004 right up through this year's NamesCon conference (where the photo of Stevan to your left by DNJournal was taken)."

According to Stevan Lieberman, "Although it looks like we're the new kid on the block we have been doing domain name escrow for far longer than Escrow.com has been existence." They are 2 of the leading attorneys in the domain industry:

Would you rather do business with a well respected law firm that has been in biz much longer or a company that is run by complete idiots? Seriously, it's hard to find someone at Escrow.com that speaks decent English and nearly impossible to find someone that understands or cares about anything other than themselves!

Sedo even uses Escrow Domains for their escrow service:

Thank god for competition and that Escrow.com does not have a monopoly on domain escrow

It's no wonder Flippa has it's own Escrow service as do most marketplaces!

I must agree. Farewell, Escrow.com. :(

Payoneer Escrow is the best these days. They have @Brandon Abbey, who was responsible for the Escrow.com that we used to know and love. He's bringing the same dedication and passion to Payoneer and it's refreshing.

Escrow.com suck nowadays, especially when they set $3000 limit for transactions.

Yeah I saw that too. But it's unlimited if you can verify who you are with an ID. This is a one time thing i think.

I got my account verified within 5 minutes of sending documents yesterday, so i'm not sure about a customer service problem... The person i spoke to spoke clear English too.. My only concern was that it could affect buyers.

That's the least of your worries dealing with them, good luck! There's a reason there's so many complaints online and my experience with them has been an absolute nightmare.

You may ask, what could go wrong? EVERYTHING! If you want to deal with idiots, so be it, but you do have much better options such as going with Payoneer which is where the leader, @Brandon Abbey of Escrow.com went or Escrow Domains law firm which is very well respected in the domain industry compared to going with Escrow.com which has nothing going for it but their domain name.

Hi @member-162055
I've got to disagree with your points here, but I've reached out directly to you privately so I can discuss your transaction directly. I understand your frustration with Brian travelling, hopefully I can take care of the issue directly.

I can't speak highly enough of Account Management team, who work extended hours to take care of customers around the clock. I hope we can sort this out over the phone.

Best regards,
Jackson Elsegood

There are other threads in the forum proving a widespread disappointed sentiment towards escrow; I have had no direct recent experience with them but it seems many have had problematic transactions, support issues, lost sales etc.

Payoneer escrow is for me the place to go for several reasons even though I would definitely like them to increase their credit card limit.

Sedo is a good alternative IF your name is NOT listed with them or you will also pay their marketplace fees.

Have had 1 deal via escrow.com few days ago: buyer and seller registration, sending money, the domain movement - all this happened within a twenty four hours, the deal successfully closed. I had no problem with the transaction, but a payment was less than $3000.

Also I got quick and correct answer in the online chat. Personally I was satisfied with the service.

I have had problems with Escrow.com in the past, including one transaction where my payment disappeared in their system for weeks. But I have just had three transactions there, and I have to say all of them went smoothly and were completed quickly.

It's funny that I found this thread right after when I was just checking one of my domain's landing page where I have mentioned that 'we use escrow.com for all domain transactions', and I was thinking of removing escrow.com and to research about Payoneer Escrow. It looks like I better get started with my research.

simply delete your name from sedo before you invoke an escrow
