niceonline 3500??

I checked and several of the names we're hand regged 1 year ago. Good for the sellers!

See something is real fishy sometimes about these sales. Part of me feels that better domains dont get more "airtime" in the "circuit" as domains like these.

What are they doing that we're not doing? Paying for featured listings? Advertising on domain sites?

Posting on forums ?Linkedin?

Connections?

Broker network?

I mean c'mon this is just crazy. What's the secret?

It can't just be handreg domain and few months later pay for auction. And then deposit fat check.

Edit.

Is it all about who you know? Not what you know? Or even what you do?

Plas/ma/norm - 2900...really?

Chances are this .de company is the buyer. Considering the type of industry and cost of the product, the name actually went cheap. Really cheap!

See this gives me hope. And it's a German company. I own BiometricTransponder.com an exact match domain for an actual million dollar product patented by Simons Voss which got bought out by Allegion a multinational billion dollar corp. Been connecting with them via Linkedin and telling them they should get this EMD. but still no bites.

Endusers either just have no idea or don't care or don't get it.

You would think these companies would register thee EMD of their product in dotcom? but most overlook it and when a guy like me comes around with the EMD they should have regged for $10 asking for $xx,xxx they cringe and not even respond.

sometimes I wonder if it's just best to point the domain to some "unmentionables" site and let them have a look? Blackmail?

I swear it's frustrating especially when you see these sales over at Sedo.

FYi. A Biometric Transponder looks like a keychain. It's keyed to your specific unique Biometric signature via your thumb print. it has a corresponding look that only it can open via radio waves I think NFC. so hold this keyfob with your thumb on it near the lock you want to open. and it opens only for you and no one else. so even if you lost this keyfob and someone else tries it. It won't work and will sounds a security alarm probably.

it's basically the digital upgrade to your Grammy's old fashioned Key.

I posted it here a while ago and not much hoopla from anyone.

My only hope is to pay for a Sedo auction since Simons Voss is a German company and give them a heads up on the auction and let it ride. no domainer will probably bid on it and either Simons Voss or Allegion will probably get it for nickels.

just isn't fair especially seeing these sales on Sedo. I guess some of these sales were probably Sedo's team brokering them?

I wonder if I can replicate PlasmaNorm's success with my BiometricTransponder? only time will tell.

You just have to hold and wait if you think you have a great name. Try to get into the big auctions if you can.

There is nothing to learn from such sales. There are no specific pattern to follow.
Even if we have better domains in our vault, they would get such price only when someone someday would come hunting for them desperately.
We would get such price when endusers wud convince us to sell n not we convince them to buy.

I hav seen people keeping BIN very high even for mediocre domains inspired by sales like above, waiting with false hopes n completely dependent on luck.

Even with a missing letter i have in average 40 unique visit / month with 30 clicks / Month (Only natural traffic)
So conversion rate is very good :)

Moreover the domain is very aged --> almost 20 years old

Lol, your rant does make me recall my own position too. One of the world's biggest ecommerce giant had a product launch in 2015 and they went on buying spree at BuyDomains.com buy related domains for $1200-2000 a pop. They bought 3-5 domains. Well I got hold of the best description for the said product when compared to what they had purchased, reach out to them and they were offering me $15 as reimbursement fees.

Funny, isn't it?

really? I'd point your domain to Senior "unmentionables" and then have them take a look see how they like their exact match domain point to such a site?

My theory of the moment regarding this is: it's the politics:
  • Niceonline.com - the demand for etiquette names is on the rise.
  • For activism, too: Defiant.com - top sale.
  • Canadiancitizenship.com - plenty of migration to Canada recent news.
  • Even Thenewinternet.com could be part of the turbulence if used for its social connotations.
Sedo is also offering behave.online at a very reasonable price, even for a gTLD. :-P

I don't understand what you mean. Care to explain? you can send me PM if it is something you don't want to say in public.

Thanks in advance.

So true. Just shaking my head at some of these names and what they sold for. Are people really so desperate that they'll take anything that ends in com? Or do they just not know any better?

Question is "who" are these people ? Resellers? Or endusers? Or newbie big money domainers who dabble in aftermarket domains .

I really doubt it's resellers as we here are resellers and some of us are already crap talking some of these domains. Lol

So....Gotta be newbies or rich "hobby" domainers?

Probably end users. The names must fit what they're looking for, even if we don't always understand.
