From the little research I did, .cloud seems to be growing fast. What do you guys make of .cloud? if this topic has been discussed before, kindly post the link below. thank you.

I think that "specificity" is one of the main features of new gTLD's that makes them desirable.

true, but you have general specific and then you have general general

general specific -- specific gTLD

.xxx
.store

general general -- general gTLD
.xyz
.global
.online

even one classed as GG can also work in GS and vice versa, for example

general in-between (can fit into specific and general, depends on the content of the domain or etc.)
.tech
.pro
.club
.store

at the end of the day these are all general top level domains (gTLD),

.co is a ccTLD but many consider or use it like a gTLD.. so you could even consider .co a general gTLD..

one mans specific is another mans general.

for me its too specific as is limited and useful to mostly only cloud based services or companies that specialize in cloud hosting or cloud something..surprise! or not.

You are right, but exactly that is the reason why I do not focus on this extension. It makes it desirable for someone who only wants to move on that niche, nothing more or less.
