Should there be price caps on domain renewals?
Simple question. If you buy a domain and the renewal is stated as $20, then when it comes time for renewal, it is now $30. Should ICANN allow renewal prices to be raised to anything that the registry/registrar wants?
Now special deals, offers, and sales are different of course. Like you buy it for a sale price of $1, but are told at that time that the renewal will be $20. Now if you go to renew it when the time comes and it is $30, should that be allowed?
Maybe ICANN could put price caps on renewals of 20-25% max.
