Which one? .org or .net.

Value wise .net, but I prefer .org for developing my site if I had to choose between .net/.org.
But it also depends. If it's mainly for profit, I'll use .net.

For me it also depends on the domain...


I would choose wireless.net over wireless.org
but would choose charity.org over charity.net...

It also depend on what keyword of domain you want !

I personally think it's time to steer clear of .NET. So for me the most valuable would be .ORG.

But in all cases, it is highly recommended to secure the .COM as an anchor domain. I probably wouldn't get into any type of commercial development without owning the .COM. Also look for the availability of quality .COMs to be on the rise as the domaining/development market continues to contract over the long-term.

I think .org is becoming more valuable, especially for certain uses (non-profits), but for commercial purposes .org may be a bit confusing.

If the domain is a valuable one-word term, then it may not matter whether it's .org or .net.

I have a nice one-word .net--no way could I afford the .com (I'd be looking at 6 figures, maybe more), so I simply use the .net as part of the site name (and I also regged the ____net.com and ___net.net, just to avoid confusion).

I just posted this question..IF you could ONLY hand reg ONE would you reg, dot net, dot org OR co.uk?

As others have said..TOTALLY depends on the name. Although most of the time I would choose .net over .org...

If you're providing non-tech/non-business information (like a blog) I would go with the .org. If you're selling anything, go with the .net. If it feels funny at all to use the .org, go with the .net.
