I think you're confused about DNS servers and A records. A DNS server would be for instance ns1.flxhost.com and ns2.flxhost.com You can usually specify more than that for failsafe, so when ns1.flxhost.com is down ns2.flxhost.com will be contacted instead. The A record is what the IP...

Absolutely that should be unacceptable! Average response times from my company is 30 minutes, there are hosts out there that are even around 5-15 minutes! Anything over a day is completely unacceptable, i would switch hosts ASAP. Say your site goes down tomorrow...do you have to wait 4...
