This should all be settled in the courts, not some rambling thread. Here's my opinions as an uninvolved outlooker, and I'm not insisting anyone take my advice.
I come to this thread to see general updates on Epik security and instead I find countess drama about obscure Wikipedia admins...
I've also asked questions, but no, questions about the content of sites on his registrar are not appropriate for a domain forum. It's not the job of registrars to police the content of sites. MOST large domain registrars like Tucows or Enom or Directnic DO NOT take down hate sites or whatever...
The reason people aren't focused on Vanwatech is because a Wikipedia admin, an anti-semitic troll named "kirtaner", and a few others have a personal vendetta against Rob.
Let's be honest here. Vanwatech has the worst sites, and this thread is constantly being bumped by because of the presence...
If a goal or sidegoal was to help investigations into suspicious people who used this registrar, the hackers/leakers would have just sent the info to the FBI or whatever rather than leak failed passwords and EPP codes of all Epik customers regardless of political orientation, to the public.
The...
Nope, this thread is best suited for the thousands of innocent domainers who had a crime commited against them by leaking their personal info, myself included.
As much as people want to make the breach about 1-2 z-list e-celebs and culture warriors who spread misinfo about Epik, that is not...
I'm not really going to accept narratives from someone who self-professes to be the founder of a criminal enterprise.
The Hal Turner trolling was funny. The leak of failed passwords of non-political people isn't.
Rob's business was incompetent in their security practices. Hackers have most or all of the moral blame here, and will likely get prosecuted. Also, reported your post to moderators.
And on a note unrelated to you, those who knowingly spread misinfo about the Epik customer base, or are chummy...
Turns out selectively using other people's framinig as fact is an opinion in and of itself.
Left-wingers and non-political people used Epik. Molly purposefully left that out. It probably had psychological consequences (legally) to how non-right-wingers were broadly included in the leak
Yes I have domains at Epik. That's what I thought this thread was mostly for. Current or prospective customers, or those effected by the breach.
You are the only person talking about the hack on twitter for sometimes 6-7 sequential hours at a time. That shows up on Twitter latest...
I don't like Joey Camp, but unfortunately, this thread is about the Epik breach by a crime syndicate Aubrey claims to be the founder of. Cute that a Wikipedia admin defends him in public though while also editing on the topic. Might be worth noting to Wikipedia.
Spam, phishing, CP etc is not what I meant by 'content'.
By 'content' I meant what Epik is debated over, ie the controversially political customers it has as some customers or 'watchdogs'.
You spend a lot of time nitpicking my statements about things this thread isn't even about.
I just spent a lot of time reading Twitter because my domains were in the dataset like everyone who used Epik (ie I'm an Epik domainer among other registrars, not a Wikipedian or a 4chan troll).
You get a real time update of possibile guilty parties on Twtter.
Apparently the alleged hacking...
Hate sites are at DirectNic, Enom, Tucows, and almost every domain wholesaler. Even stormfront set up shop on DirectNic a long time ago. The pitchforks are after Epik today for god knows what reason for content, when registrars larger than his also have domain names related to hate sites
Even...
His bio also says 'hacker' and he is defending the actions taken by the hackers, if they were not him, on the basis of "the info was offered to the CIA". Someone claiming to have this much knowledge about the hack itself is someone who is at least somewhat involved in it. Whether or not he...
I'm not saying Aubrey did the hack himself personally. I'm saying he is claiming to be the founder of a criminal enterprise who is claiming responsibility for the hack and parading around as someone who is at least somewhat tied to the event.
And in response to criticism is advocating crimes...
There is plenty wrong with being a hacker with strong connections (self-proclaimed founder) to a criminal organzation taking the responsibility for the illegal dump. The illegal dump that the organzation leaked included personal info and password info of thousands of non-political customers.
from Washington Examiner:
"The hackers should face consequences, added Jon Clay, vice president of threat intelligence at cybersecurity vendor Trend Micro. "Regardless of who perpetrates the attack, stealing information from a company is wrong and should be punished," he said.
Anonymous...
Epik having a lot of right wing customers != justification for leaking the info of random non-political people.
Even in an alternative universe where a neutrally-advertised-to-the-public, mainstream domain registrar only had right-wing customers, the law and LEO can and does actively protect...
The lede says two things
1. "Epik is a haven for right-wingers"
Right-wingers have at least a dozen registrars to choose from who would get the same level of speech protection.
2. "Epik is protecting people who aren't otherwise"
Those people moved to Vanwatech, Nicenic etc, months to years...
This is the lede for the Wikipedia Epik article. You've done the last 47 out of 56 or so edits on the page.
"Epik is an American domain registrar and web hosting company known for providing services to websites that host far-right, neo-nazi, and other extremist content. It has been described...
