The sales letter isn't horrible but it isn't optimized either.
The biggest mistake you're making is not listing a price.
Remember, you're emailing these people, not the other way around.
What if you were in a mall and some guy from a bed store hopped out in front of you and said, "Hey...
Doron,
Great job building Efty to what it is so far. As soon as the landing page speed gets sorted out, I'm going to sign up.
One suggestion on a lander: What about something like HugeDomains.com?
HugeDomains is set up to convert like crazy with all of the psychological elements in play...
I'd bet 95% of the domains in this thread never get sold for more than $15. Just because a niche is hot doesn't mean you're forced into buying a domain.
If it's not there, it's not there.
Not sure if these have already been mentioned but I didn't see them (found them guessing codes):
phil295
comics295
free2 ($4)
I haven't gone this far but I'm thinking free1 through free9 works for $4 .coms.
.Mobi - This hype happened at the exact wrong time for me (just beginning) and I bought into some reg fees that cost me about $350. Most domains were dropped.
.WS - Made my own hype on this one. Regged a bunch of decent 1 worders but still almost all dropped. About $400-$500 here.

With every domain you register, ask yourself the likelihood of either you seriously putting a site on it or actually being able to sell it to someone.
Yes, there is a huge search engine using the type of domain you're using, but that value doesn't necessarily carry over to the AskName.com...
It's back up and running but everything was down for a few minutes.
The Time Warner pages are just ads in the event there's no website so they can collect revenue.
I thought the same thing. It really takes away from the usefulness of this thread if the same people are going to rehash old codes every couple of weeks.
I'm not going to say exactly (hurts too much) but there's a really-really good tech domain that I let go for $2,500.
Probably could have got $10,000 or more if I just held on to it.
At least I got money for that though. There are 4-5 domain drops that haunt me to this day.
Domain Discount Club
This is the smart way to go with DDC. I only purchased 1 year but if you're thinking about it, I highly recommend purchasing for 3 years at $46/year.
$2.95 Promo Codes
Also, I was going over many of the promo codes last night and while I'm not 100% sure, I believe...
I've scanned this thread and online codes - even the 25-35% off codes that have later expiration dates - and only the $9.99 renewal code has worked for me.
I think there may be some hope since even codes with specific expiration dates aren't working.
There's no way in hell I'd sign over ownership of my domain. At that point you've completely lost control and are at their mercy.
There's a saying I go by: If it starts bad, it's probably going to end bad.
Try it out: movies, books, girlfriends, business deals, etc.
The very fact that...
I wouldn't register that if I were levis either. The only person who would type that in a URL bar would be a domainer. All that is is a waste of $8-10.
I can understand if their tagline was "Best Damn Jeans" or something like that but they were right not to reg this one.
That's a 6 word...
