Sorry, your scenario is unusual and your first question wasn't specific. For "normal" hosting it's just a matter of having control over DNS despite any zone records on the server. In this case, it sounds like the former registrant needs to remove the domain from his Google Apps control panel and...

Good name and its TLD is probably more appropriate than dot-com, which is rare. Not sure of value but it's likely worth a large amount in tax relief if donated to a non-profit org. This thread is straying off-topic. :(

Prices change from $9.00 to $8.98. Needless to say, the only changes necessary in my ETP account are for TLDs going up in price. I wish Enom would stop being so nice to me.

I appreciate everyone's comments but I have experience with enom the registrar. Anybody with experiences to share about enom's hosting? For inexpensive shared hosting packaged with Plesk, I just wonder what could go wrong, aside from the typical scrapes and burns that can happen at any hosting...
