You know a domain is worthless if...

...you claim that the domain was "originally" registered in 1997, but it has dropped 3 times since then.

alert Epik Had A Major Breach

It seems that the CC numbers were saved for logging suspicious and fraudulent transactions. It doesn't make sense to me why they need to store so much information about them (especially since their payment gateway likely has a copy of the data), but the data includes the first 4 digits and last...

alert Epik Had A Major Breach

Something interesting about the Epik hack that I haven't seen posted anywhere else is the fact that the database dump is incomplete. There is a main database where Epik stores most of the data for their registrar platform, but the dump ends abruptly about halfway through the tables. This is...

alert Epik Had A Major Breach

Confusingly, the acquisition did not include InTrust's ICANN registrar ID. In the letter, there's a reference to ID 653, which is now "NamePal.com #8028, LLC" (probably a drop catch registrar). For whatever reason, Epik acquired the ID 617 instead from a company called NameQueen.

    FREE Free Aged .com Domain

I felt that this old domain (registered in 1994) had potential, but I was not able to sell it, so I'm giving it away for free: -----------.com Expires 8/22/2022 (next Monday) Registered at NameSilo If you have a NameSilo account to push to, please post "Claim" and PM me your NameSilo username...

alert Epik Had A Major Breach

The "saveToDb" flag is set to true when that class is initiated, so the data is stored in the database rather than in files.

question How old is your oldest domain?

I still own my first hand reg from 2000, but the oldest one I own is from 1992.

news Tucows Inc. Acquires eNom Inc. for $83.5 Million

The new OpenSRS control panel is different from the Hover control panel. In my opinion, it's more powerful for managing multiple domains and a little more convenient to view and change info. But I agree that eNom and especially Uniregistry have great control panels as well.

news Tucows Inc. Acquires eNom Inc. for $83.5 Million

They released a new panel a few years ago which is much easier to use. They're more commonly known in the domaining world as OpenSRS and Hover.

How to display a random image in this code?

The place where you put your rand() function is already inside PHP tags, so instead of opening new ones, you can just concatenate it with the rest of the string like this: 'default_image' => get_bloginfo( 'template_url' ) . '/images/default_thumbnail_0' . rand(1,3) . '.png',

question Any update on Nissan.com theft?

Uzi Nissan also owned Digest.com. The court document makes a brief mention that Digest.com was stolen as well. However, it is now listed for sale by Brent Oxley. Did the thief sell it to him? Does he know it was stolen?

news GWhois.org “v1” has reached the end of its life

Sad news. I used it often. I appreciated the clean interface and the ability to query any TLD, along with its DNS.

Anyone else with an old free DomainTools account?

Still no word from support, but it looks like it's working again.

Anyone else with an old free DomainTools account?

I signed up for a free DomainTools account in 2002 and have been using it ever since then for the Domain Monitor (limited to 100 domains). However, within the past few days, the Domain Monitor suddenly stopped working for me and displays an error: I emailed them, but nobody responded. On my...
