question Am I missing out by not listing on BrandBucket, BrandPa, Squadhelp?

It's not even a secret, see here: https://helpdesk.squadhelp.com/en/articles/2708432-how-do-i-get-complimentary-squadhelp-coins " How to Earn Complimentary Squadhelp Coins Share the details of your overall SH marketplace experience, or recent domain sales on a third party Domaining website...

domains Blood.com owner forwards name to Red Cross website

I think it's smart, this way they retain full control of the way the domain is used. I've seen a non-profit receive a domain as a donation and immediately listing it for sale on a domain marketplace. I won't mention the org or the domain but it's a $xx,xxx-xxx,xxx name.

If nothing changed, then $185,000 to apply and then $25,000 per year + various other fees. I linked the guide in my first post.

    discuss VideoGames.co for $999. Estibot, a mess?

"Video games" name was used when they weresomething new, when there was a need to distinguish them from other types of games. Now they are just games, nobody calls them "video games" because when you say "games" it's "video games" by default. It's the other types of games that need a descriptor...

domains Pay2Pay.com (dropped 4 times) acquired in January for $604 flipped for a nice profit

I would have regged it too, and I would have dropped it too. It's a very ambiguous domain. I won't be surprised if it drops again in a few years. But at least for one person it was pay2win. ;-)

    Be careful with SAV registrar

So if I bought a few dozen domains through sav and never failed a payment, then wouldn't it make sense to just *not* place this lock, just as a courtesy to a loyal customer? :) You know, since you'd be happy to lift it anyway. ;-)

    Discuss your Epik Experience!

When I register a domain at epik and list it at afternic, it's not eligible for fast transfer because of the initial transfer lock - I get it. But why 3-4 months later I still didn't get the opt-in e-mail from epik and I needed to go to afternic, remove the domain, add it again and only then get...

Too late to save the climate...

It's not too late but people are too stubborn. The economy crash would be a *great* opportunity to change how things work, but instead most everyone will set out to rebuild everything to how it looked before.

development Walmart closes jet.com 4 years after it paid $3B to buy them

Jet engines gobble up lots of fuel, while Amazon just flows by itself, based solely on the forces of nature. Obviously it was a lost cause.

information Data Driven: Which Extensions Are Startups Using in 2020?

I think the trend was started by usage of the tld by projects such as atom.io and github.io (for github pages) and it further popularized (esp. outside of "geek culture") by agar.io (online game), popularity of which spawned many other ".io games". It may also be significant that the TLD is not...

How much will you do for domain transfer?

That's true, but if you want to move 1k domains, it's a pain to shell out $8k just for that.

Mistakes you made as a newbie

I regret registering some crappy names in my early days, also renewing some of them... but what I regret the most is *not* registering some cool names that I found available but wrote off. If I took some money from the "bad" registrations and put into these "right" non-registrations, I would...

discuss Domain values after massive inflation?

When the $ value becomes unstable, we'll start pricing the domains in # of rolls of toilet paper and convert the price to $ at the time of purchase.

poll As a buyer on a scale of 0 to 10 how important is the value assigned by an automated appraisal

Your example does not in any way relate to the original question. Sure, if I browse a list of crapthousand drops, sorting by appraisal value can be handy. But if I want to buy a specific domain, I don't care if it's auto-valued at $0 or $10000. All I care is how much I feel it's worth for me and...

discuss Where .com is Not King

Local ccTLD is more popular than .com in most countries, although .com might be high in places where the ccTLD has some crazy restrictions or prices. However there are also countries where TLDs other than local and .com are popular, for example: - in EU countries there is .eu, which is often...

discuss The letter y in CVCV's and VCVC's

Since it's not a word (not even a made-up one), these Ys can be both vowels or consonants depending on what acronym you ascribe to it. Probably will be C in 99% cases, at least I can't now think of a word beginning with Y where it's a vowel. so per example: ycuy = you can use yaks = CCVC

discuss The letter y in CVCV's and VCVC's

Yury is a name, an "English spelling" of Ю́рий so the first Y is a vowel (part of a phoneme yu) and the last one is a replacement for a vowel+consonant, so it's kind of two-in-one. Ю́рий is VCVC, Yury is VvCV(c) ;-)
