Very true, however Adam sold Mimes.com for $2200 and I believe that's a big loss. The domain has much more potential in my view, in fact I once wanted to buy that name myself for 5 figures for my own project but ended up changing plans.

I see that most of the no reserve auctions had the owners losing major amounts money... much less than they paid in the past, and it's the case for multiple domains on the list. I guess that's what happens when you risk it with no reserve sometimes

Completed watched auctions no longer showing on GoDaddy?

As of now, the only way to see the result is if you directly bid on the auction. Otherwise, GoDaddy removed the feature of showing past, watched auction prices. Not a good move for the industry, hopefully GD will fix this.

Is the overall trend for domains negative?

This doesn't indicate anything, a few lowest sales in the top 100 cannot dictate the market all by themselves. Looking at the median of all the sales, not necessarily the large 6-7 figure outliers is the best method to understand the market. Ron Jackson has an article on the current state of the...

I joined this year with less than 200. You could get in with 10, 20, or 50 I'm sure-- it's all about quality over quantity, if you have three one word .coms, generic two word .coms, and a few LLLL.coms in the mix you're practically in. They like those types of names as they get inquiries often...

Ebay Auctions?

There are definitely deals to be had there but they are hard to find for me personally. The eBay platform is hard to understand because it is not built for domainers like Flippa is for example. I've only bought 1 domain from eBay in the past simply because someone posted a thread on a forum...
