    Hello there

I had a bunch of domain names given to me a long time ago. I managed to sell some with the help of certain people on this site. But if I am honest, I did not know what I had. And I do not do this for a living and let a lot of domain names expire. :( I really messed up. My experience with...

Somebody close to me suggested that I join this community so that I can learn more about how domain name selling works. Any help, pointers or links for a fast start would be appreciated...

Where to find discount LLL.com's and LLL.net?

I stumbled into some domain names due to death of the owner. I know nothing so that is why I am here to learn.

    Hello there

Thanks for the good tips and being so generous with your knowledge. I will post some of them for appraisal soon.

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

I came here to do some research and to compare note. I found this post: "I 100% agree with Ms Domainer, if it reaches Pending Delete, it will drop on the 6th day after it enters Pending Delete Status. The Registrar can no longer recover the domain, and it's a free for all, for anyone to grab...

    Hello there

I know about Pool.com which charges 10% and sedo about 15%. Which one is better (other than commission paid)? I will post next to the appraisal section as well. Thanks for the tips so far...

    Hello there

Thanks for the welcome. Yes when I was given the domain names long ago, I was given this account with three simple instructions. Top of the list was go to namepros for advice -- they will help you. I was referred to another website, but that place has closed down. ~~~ Is it against the rules to...

    domain Mark(.)info

Hi, If I search google for "mark", I see mark as short for trademark, bible references to the Gospel of Mark, and Mark Zuckerberg of Facebook. Also if this was a few years ago, then you could have capitalized on Mark the currency of Germany. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mark_(currency)

    domain 78L.com

Thanks for the infro in this thread. Has really helped. In my research, I found out about domain age. And branding. > 78L is almost 10 years old > And here is the logo, which seems "brandable". Does this increase the value?

    domain 78L.com

I am understanding now that end users pay more, but you have to find them and that takes time. Really good idea.

Sheogorath, That is brilliant. Really good advice. I was looking for "comparables" like in real estate. Wow

    Hey, Hi, Hola

So far I sold 3 for about $950, but I let too many expire before I understood domain expiration. :( I still have a lot to learn and I will try to find Michael Cyger and see what he says. Thank you very much!

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

Yes, you are right. "registry redemption period" is what is going on. No excuses except my English. I get it and will stop now. :) Thank you for patience.

    You gotta be kidding Flippa!

My comment may not be appreciated, but it sounds a bit like extortion. Sounds like the op likes Flippa, but this policy is a bit over the top to him. People do not post things like unless what is being done is unnecessarily greedy. Flippa could easily "fix" this by giving a pay option to catalog...

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

This actually no longer true with GoDaddys. Based on what I am seeing and what @stub is saying, GoDaddys domain names are not available for new registration after the 5 day pending delete period i.e. total of 45 days after expiration. This is actually a change. It used to be like what you said...

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

I am humbled and grateful for your answers. Thank you. I seem to remember long ago that domains would "drop" be available for registration after 45 days, but maybe that was my imagination... Years ago. I 100% understand what you are saying now. I am still confused why they are reverts back to...

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

Here is the GoDaddy drop schedule: https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/6700/what-happens-after-domain-names-expire I do not see 81 days, but it is definitely longer than I expected with the auction process. The page says, "The domain name might not be available for renewal after day 42."...

Exactly. Not possible, but it is happening. I will PM you the domain name.

    Nice Try GoDaddy's!

Thank you for explaining. But it still does not make sense. Your example is not yet 45 days. In the example that I provided which shows the GoDaddy problem, the domain name expired > 45 days: Expiration Date: 02-dec-2014 And it has been well over 45 days. When it should have dropped...
