opinion How Does The Age A Name Bring Value?

Not stupid at all. Everyone probably falls for this trap in the beginning, (you're usually at your most confident when you're new to something and feel superior in having an edge over old timers in the game,) and who knows, you just might have some gems on there awaiting discovery. More likely...

discuss A worldwide shift away from .com

Not at all, Saturation drives people to cctlds and ngtlds, and any other option available that best suits their needs when the .com is unavailable. This happens all the time, almost on a daily basis in my own sphere and client base. Also, don't forget the main point of all this: look at the...

discuss Is it me or is the crypto domain thing just getting ridiculous ?

You're not the only one. Apparently, there's real coin to be mined (in the literal and crypto sense) when these appraisal sources realize they stand to profit from here until Tuesday if only they get their AI and machine learning act together (the real one, or learn the real thing if they have...

I need advices about my website price

There are various methods for valuing a website; some of the more popular ones are: Whatever the buyer is willing to pay. 20x - 30x monthly earnings (earnings, not revenue), depending on various metrics. In lieu of earnings, then it comes down to voume/traffic, and the quality thereof (like...

status-done Domain buyer requests and pm sent, dm sent, pm sent, dm sent, pm sent, pm sent, PM sent, pm sent,...

I have a feeling NoBS may not have been asking about what the terms mean, and instead was making a commentary about this habit of forum threads getting flooded by duplicates of "pm/dm sent" (when the OP gets a notification either way)?

Setting up a startup. Any tips?

Just one advice: Whatever your budget in bootstrapping, just set the business up, then promote it like crazy online (classifieds, accommodation aggregators, places where target prospects hang out like climbers' groups on FB, hotel directories, SEO and so on). The idea here is to gain traction...

discuss Domains vs SEO vs PPC

That is more of a correlation and interpretation by Verisign, and not necessarily a Google edict or ranking antifactor. G itself denies this (though you don't have to er, take their word for it). John Mueller has explicitly denied this in more than one of their Hangouts. "targeted exact-match...

Has Google Killed GEO and KEYWORD Domains

GEO, EM/PM, brandables, etc. are still good for, well, branding. Otherwise, SEO is now about how well a site is optimized to answer the searcher's question, intent, or desired solution. The name is secondary. The point is for people not to rely on the domains alone for search engine rankings...

Namesilo hits 1 million names

Namesilo has fantastic consistent pricing, as well as features that are a pleasure to use, particularly awesome additional services that other registrars would have charged separately. My only wish and hope is that they don't let their growth hamper the quality of service and basket of...

domain Gladiatorwars.com

May not have that broad an appeal, but it can be deep and valuable to a specific buyer. In this case, it can go from $xx to the casual user all the way to five figures to a specific buyer. I'd advise hustling it to game companies, including small game/app developers on up since this is perfect...

domain V*********r . net

Open ended range, but many happy opportunities because as limited as it may sound at first blush, it's applicable to many niches, including (and not limited to) VPS/general hosting, virtualization technology (software, hardware, etc.), and VR production (games, rigs, etc.) entities. Being .net...

Website contact forms

When it comes to contact forms intended for conversion (inquiry, sale, subscription), brevity wins over details and data all the time. The only real requirement in any contact form is the email address. Period. Even the message box (and subject line) should be totally optional. This is because...

Is it necessary to learn Java before going to Android training?

Depends on your ultimate goals. If you're looking at a career and future in the Android ecosystem, then yes. Otherwise, if you're seeking a solution to a business need, there are other alternatives (like other frameworks, libraries, tools and products) that will produce your mobile app and...

First time using Escrow

Whether you wire the money to the end-buyer or to Escrow, you basically go to your bank and fill-out forms and send the info to your buyer, including bank transfer codes and other details. Three to five working days later (or depending on your bank and the buyer's), they money arrives.

FOG is the new CLOUD.

Fog seems quite a stretch at this point, and a semantics exercise by Cisco who, like Oracle (Ellison ridiculing at the term "cloud computing" before because they wanted to promote their "grid" system), hasn't quite taken a stranglehold on the cloud computing market and needs a concept to latch...

discuss 3D .com domains - Worth the investment?

Amusing point about 3D printing/print domains not making much headway lately. Maybe because the industry/concept stalled (Makerbot itself sold to Stratasys then sank not very long after). But maybe they are the isolated case, as noted from this recent Fortune article here (showing, effectively...

Good news for Holo fans HoloLens.com is owned by Microsoft Got HoloLens Blog [dot] com a while back. Intended for development. Hopefully will be a good specialist topic as compared to the different principles/philosophies of related products for VR/augmented-reality from FB (OculusVR) and that...
