Using a div to hide keywords.

I think that'd work, but man you're running a risk. If they keywords don't naturally work in your site, then you really aren't relevant to that topic. Anyways, you're focusing too much on relevancy, and not enough on rank. You might be relevant, but you won't rank. Work on the rank problem.

Is buying forum posts a good idea?

depends on the quality of posts. ask for references. You do need to get some content in your forums. No one wants to be first . . . but crap content . . . well . . you'll be wasting your money.

Silverlight anybody?

There's a lot of tutorials out there if you just search for it. I've done extensive Silverlight. It is awesome and way better than flash. That being said, the sad truth is adoption isn't near Flash numbers. I'm still Flash first :(
