Giles- you make a lot of good points and I'm learning a lot. However you are assume one thing that is deeply flawed in your thinking...you are assuming hand registered names are worth nothing. You are assuming I'm an average person...how do you know what my names are? Maybe I've worked in...

Domeen- I disagree. A common 5 letter domains of today will be rare in 10 years. Always new opportunities.

I have a contact inside Godaddy that says he knows a few gentlemen that make $100k a year flipping domains with a portfolio size of 3000 domains. What do you think they are doing..high volume at low price($200 bucks) , or low volume at a high price? Any theories?

Agree 100%..that's why I think if you have a portfolio of 200 domains, one might be better off developing the 20 top names and selling or dropping the rest at renewal time... Build real value for consumers via developing websites ... The name "Google" means nothing and not a good name ,if you...

Eyed- the sales price distribution curve which can be found on Sedo Market Research shows its very hard to sell a domain over $2,000. But very easy to sell a domain for $100. Therefore if you have 1000 hand reg and sell them for $100 each on a 7 day auction that's $100,000... Isn't that more...

WPM- You read my mind.. I did full metric analysis on my 230 names and will keep the top 30 most valuable names and build websites on top of the domains. Based on the domain names it's an absolute 100% on brainer...Valuable domain + valuable website. I will use Moto Cms which is awesome. In the...

I see, but are they high volume at a low price or low sales at a high a price? Where do you think they sell and the avg sale price. My guess is Godaddy auctions. My other guess is they buy for $8 and sell for $100, but a thousand times in a year.

Quick question, I'm new to domaining. Of the 300 domain you acquired how many did you end up selling? What is the average sales price range? I have 230 domains & was curious how hard or easy it is to sell if the names are decent. Thank you.

    Which is better

Which is better? Picking my top 10 most valuable domains and building flow blown super high quality websites or building 100 decent average websites but under a great free Wordpress web template?
