Domaining is a rabbit hole that I didn't expect.

Firstly thanks for this wonderful resource. Having a quick look through the forums, you all conduct yourselves with honour and compassion to help grow the domain name industry and the standards it should uphold. So onto a quick intro. Matt, based within the UK. Been buying, but never selling...

Domaining is a rabbit hole that I didn't expect.

Hi Ategy, Overall I would say in the multiple hundreds over the years. Lost some, brought them back and a vast majority just expired to go to pastures new. At this moment, I would say I've around the low hundred mark and generally try and pick up a couple a month, or if I have an idea that I...

Domaining is a rabbit hole that I didn't expect.

Hi @Pierre Barnard . I tend to go with .com as the first port of call and if I can't get my first choice, I look for alternatives that could fit. I grab .co.uk ones only for the companion of the .com or as a personal/fun domain that I don't mind holding onto.

@BaileyUK I've put a few up for opinions over in the appraisal section (can't link to it). I would welcome your view.

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

Afraid so @MapleDots. Not all domain stories deserved to have a Hollywood A-lister playing the main character in the struggles against the .com man.

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

Having decided to keep a lookout for interesting crypto related .com domains, this is the start of something a little strange and still ongoing. I shall keep my side limited due to this being an ongoing process and unless the other party wants to add their information, I shall also leave their...

discuss Your reg. of the day

@anantj I currently have the domain held within Google domains. Paid for and delivered as expected. I can see from the whois that it is indeed registered and held to your details. According to the whois, your purchase was created and completed at 2018-04-28T18:46:02Z and mine was completed at...

@anantj oncrypto.com was a grabbed via a reserved backorder snipe upon it's deletion. Price, not disclosed, but a fair one I believe.

    discuss Lesson learned

Having what is now a very obvious statement regarding IP and TM information in domain names, I've taken what you helpful peeps have passed on and grabbed a couple of non-descript crypto domains instead when buying some names for a project. I maybe past the curve, but you never know what's...

    domain pockup.com

With pickup.com available for overs over $325,000 and Google auto correcting pockup to show over half a billion results, what do you think my scope if on this slight keyboard fat fingers .com?

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

I started this post as a request by another member to see what the issue was an what the outcome would be. The end issue wasn’t known at the start, like any good story / process. Bottom line is we both brought the same domain, within the same time period and both had their respective registrars...

Apologies, not $. Sedo has it flagged for sale for offers over 10,000 EUR.

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

@anantj I cannot say for the process you went through, but from my part, I was not part of an auction. All that happened on my end was I subscribed to a service which attempts to register an expired domain as soon as possible as it becomes available. I pay a flat fee for that service if its...

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

Indeed @domains21 something that I put down to regarding the difference in time zones, though it shouldn’t make any difference. The domain expiry time was in PST it was purchased in GMT and all the backend took place in EST. The only thing I can learn from this is to check the Whois sooner.

Two owners, one domain. The start of a story.

I think I've finally got the issue regarding this, simpler than expected but troubling at the same time. Google doesn't do drop-catching, I just keep the .com I'm not actively in there for ease. I use a third party who runs their own drop-catching service and as part of that service, they will...

discuss Your reg. of the day

@anantj Well, I was under the impression I did. Ordered, paid and showing within my registrar's portal as mine, but it appears that you also have the domain. What a conundrum. Currently being looked into by my registrar to see what the issue is from my end. You bagged a good domain though if...
