Do you guys give up in domaining yet? Or are you thirsty for more?

I love you Fonzie. You tell it like it is. With the glut of tools, resources, and conferences at our disposal, you'd think that domaining is a viable business which employs many people. But all of this infrastrucutre is both bloated and misleading. In reality, there are maybe 250 people...

Why watch comedy when you can laugh while domaining?

Disagree. Hardly anyone here makes a real living domaining, and that's because folks aren't making that big sale whose proceeds help with acquiring higher-level names that create a viable business. ReduceReadmissions.com recently sold for $20,000. What $$$ would the Name Pros have accepted...

If he did not send you a rejection letter, then most likely a) he did not receive your e-mail or b) his reply did not not reach you. I'm 100% certain that he would list each of those domains without hesitation today. ---------- Post added at 07:41 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:39 PM...

The importance of connections in domaining (Schilling / Evanson)

Log in to Sedo, do a search for frankschillingsucks.com and go to the offer page. Scroll down and click "Learn more about the seller". If you're familiar with a certain Grand Cayman, you'll see that the seller is none other than Frank Schilling himself (as usual for Frank, the minimum offer is...

Do you guys give up in domaining yet? Or are you thirsty for more?

To be clear, I do think it is possible to make a full time living from domaining even as a latecomer. I have my sights set on doing just that. I just think that domainers take things too far when they say things like "good names sell themselves". That is not even close to being true when it...

various Report Completed Domain Name Sales Here

Congrats. I wonder why they didn't hand register waikiki24.com or oahu24.com instead? :) I guess some people prefer 247 to 24, though it is the other way around in many cases. Or maybe this end user just isn't very imaginative (quite common).

    New to it all!

If you post the names, I might be able to give you some tailored suggestions.

Why watch comedy when you can laugh while domaining?

I agree. While the OP has a point, there is surely some merit in shooting for the moon when it comes to domains that are at least average. Often when surveying the weekly top sales chart at Dnjournal, my first thought is "There's no way the folks at Namepros would have asked for that much"...

How & Where to sell domains in a hurrry

I think people are being far too cavalier in this thread. Veercall and Blutext are both quality brandables. Don't let those drop. Newsflash guys: the world doesn't revolve around generics. If you take off your domainer blinders for a minute, you'll realize that "generic" is a stinging...

So are you all giving up domaining for the holidays?

One aspect of this industry which I hate is the conventional wisdom regarding hours of operation. Close shop in December or January (holiday months), no weekends, don't e-mail anyone after 5 or you won't be taken seriously, blah blah blah. Those are a lot of restrictions. I wonder how much...

How do you reply to Sedo low-baller?

There's no point in taking an offence to a lowballer. Not everyone is a domain expert with a firm grounding in what virtual assets are worth. Just counter, or set a minimum price if it bothers you that much. Your laziness does not warrant a prissy attitide.

The importance of connections in domaining (Schilling / Evanson)

It did. 1) Not all of Schilling's domains on Sedo have a broker. 2) Even if that were true, it would just prove my point. Both Schwartz and Schilling have their fair share of pigeon **** domains in their portfolio. Such a "bulk setting" would thus constitute favoritism.

    Toby Clements

Has anyone ever sold a domain through this guy? I've had a few of my domains listed with his newsletter, but never with any success. His prices are often inflated, but he does make some sales (supposedly). I would be interested in seeing some examples.

Helpful scripts and software for domaining

Also wanted: A NameFlipper replacement. NameFlipper was a "domain name research engine that pinpoints exceptionally liquid expired domains". In other words, NameFlipper would filter drop lists according to domain quality/sellability. This tool was said to eliminate much of the guesswork...

various Report Completed Domain Name Sales Here

The thing is...you have the option of setting your minimum price on Sedo. You can't really fault an end user for making a $60 bid when you allow them that choice.

Helpful scripts and software for domaining

I suspect that some of the most successful domainers (JoshuaPZ of nameflipper.com being one known example) use automated scripts/software to serve their ends. From end user prospecting to end user contacting, there is at least the potential for scripts and software to make our lives a whole lot...
