if i was you, i wouldn't be using phpbb3, its still in beta and shouldn't be used for testing. also just build backlinks and make sure its user friendly.

if the content is unique and yours its already copyright to you, you can obtain a trademark online. with a quick google search i found. http://www.uspto.gov/main/trademarks.htm look up that. its US :p

Help with choosing forum

phpbb is a great free forum script. probably the best free script. i know if you run php-nuke you also get a built in forum with that. that could be a option, not very sure if you want that kind of thing tho.
