advice Well funded startup wants my domain

Tell them, the company name is an independent asset which can add value when the company is sold/acquired or merged with another and thus can get multiples as an asset sale. I use this argument and it has helped me get near price points to my bigger sales.

Noob mistake

They are all good names. Learn to develop them with a business plan. Most domainers are just too lazy hoping for a sale someday, which sadly won't happen and if it will, won't make a degree of a difference in their finances. And time fleets away. Look at all the weird names on the web making...

That guy was merely reflecting his pockets. The same can be said about domainers here. There are some great values offered here as well, but most times domainers don't want to pay even reseller prices instead content to wait for a distressed seller to land that lucky deal.

The China domain name market is fluctuating and dangerous.

Why does one have to be physically in China to know what the market is like there? It's not like domains are sold on the streets there. Evidence of supply and demand is everywhere.
