Hey guys! I signed up a few days ago and didn't even have the time to say hello. I already went through many threads and have to say it's awesome how people here help each other and stuff... I'm a computer programmer thinking about doing domains as an evening hobby. Just thought I gotta get...

question Is it soon the end of AdSense?

Wow! What countries are your visitors from? Do you have some data about the target audience? In my case it's 20-30%. Twice as much than 1 year ago. ( most of my traffic comes from central and western Europe )

Very nice @dotbay :) As for me, I moved one of my adult domains from Sedo to Bodis. Now making 1.5$/day. 0.3$ with Sedo. Great success for me! :)

How end users get their domains?

Yeah you're right. What country are you talking about btw? I believe that here in central/eastern europe most of the small businesses (at least those non-IT) still have that sort of "mindset" that if the domain is not available, there's no way to get it.

Maybe there would traffic if the name + extension would make some sense like online.poker ... But not now I think. In 5+ years maybe.. If they're not going to shut those gTLDs down lol

How do "normal" parking domains work anyway?

Yes you go to G to search for that but not everyone :) Some people would just type cat.com and expect something related. If not, they try .net etc. And then they find out that there are search engines :O I believe that's how the keyword based typein traffic works.

My very first domain was a local .cz name for my humorous school community magazine. Anyway my first .com - 3hugs. My former classmate was using it for her lovely tumblr blog.
