I often purchase similar names to keep them off the market while I negotiate. For example I might reg in .net or .org or .ca to prevent an escape hatch from the name I am offering. Sometimes I will purchae a name with a hyphen for the same purpose. Redirect the names so they don't resolve and...

I read all of the candidates bios and a couple of things struck me: 1. There are an awful lot of accountants running. I don't think that finances are an area where CIRA needs dramatic improvement. 2. I sense a lot of careerists, looking to expand their resumes. 3. Aside from yourself, I only...

Was reading about Elon Musk starting a company to merge the human brain with a computer and started to drill down. Came up with these 3 after a quick 15 minutes. In dot com NuroThera NeuraThera NeuraCure I think that's some low hanging fruit. Anyways, it's a happy day!

Dangerous territory we are in. What if I want to buy "something".com, but don't want to pay the price? Am I now able to trademark "something".com and receive the domain through the back door? Clear as mud is correct.

discuss Showcase and Discuss Marijuana/Pot/Hemp/Cannabis domains

From a Canadian perspective a .com can easily be a Nigerian Prince in disguise. Due to the Canadian presence requirements to register a .ca that's far less likely in that extension. The .ca extension has more "trust value" in Canada. The .com's will always be more valuable.

OK - I give up on the "opening the registration up" thing (for now). But, I have decided that .ca needs a brandable marketplace. Brandbucket, brandroot, brandpa, plentyofbrands, namerific don't accept .ca's. I'm sure there are others that don't as well. Am I correct that most of you would like to...
