LondonHotel.com sold for £10,000 at sedo.com (they received payment)
Held for 27 years - for first 10 years it was a working site and earned a lot more than that
Following Googles Penguin thingy I just sat on it whilst I pursued a different career
Now retired thought I'd better unload it before...
No...buyer came via Sedo listing
:)
It had an offer price on but they went straight to the full price (as far as I can see)
Thanks for all the advice on this thread by the way!
Maybe this will make it clearer
I was astonished (but rather pleased) that Appraise.net valued my domain at $2.5million. As part of their offer for forum members I got a certificate confirming the valuation.
I made a post about it showing the certificate and suggested it made me chuckle. I...
A Domain name doesn't have to be for profit
You can have a bit of fun with them too
I got findmycarkeys.com the other day
10 minutes later Gemini had done a nifty little index page
The Mrs thinks I'm Batshit Bonkers
She's probably right
Show me your domains reg'd purely for fun
Am I the only...
Well now his "sold" post has also been removed so I guess its like it never happened. I'm still puzzled though...if I erred perhaps a mod could explain.
Well it sounds OK (I guess it acts like an alarm clock?) but as I dont know you I wont be installing the apk file that just got downloaded to my PC....it got deleted straight away

Thanks for advice - all duly noted and understood.
I missed the price (also) on the contact page - now amended, cheers for that.
Yeah I'm kind of after a quick sale...getting a bit old now to hang on to stuff so I'm happy to let it go fairly quickly so I can maybe treat family to a last holiday...
Treat it as a hobby and learn as it grows.
Maybe as part of that budget get some server space somewhere where you can park your domains and make your own individual landing pages...generally much more appealing then the bog standard landing pages Sedo etc offers. Promote in the right places

I have a chap from Saw.com ringing me, twice, very interested in marketing LondonHotel.com
I mentioned I don't really want an exclusive arrangement but the agreement he sent requests this
He saying all the right things to me "we think its worth a lot more" etc
but exclusive agreement probably...
Sold one last week for £10,000GBP at Sedo
I'm puzzled though as buyer attempted to bid 3 times before going to the max.
He has a VERY similar name (of which mine is now pointing to) and dozens of other GEO related names in same genre and I have no doubt saw that my domain was semi working -...
I'm retired.
I need to sell londonhotel.com
Had it for years and made lots of money from it before Google changed the logarithms for hotel booking affiliate sellers
Any tips for marketing it?
