But to think of it, if this fake bidder had stopped bidding a little earlier and a genuine bidder won the auction at $12k or $13k... it would be such a sham!

It seems that Escrow agreement does allow for a cancellation. So, as the Buyer, I am not at all protected. Furthermore, I have to bear over $300 in Escrow fee even upon transaction cancellation. :( :(

About 20 minutes ago, I won an expired auction on Snapnames. Well, almost. Yes, that's what I realised today. You can win an auction and then not-win it. The auction page showed "Ended" in Time Left column as it usually does. I was about to close the window, but then, the page auto-refreshed...
