This actually happened to me. The GoDaddy broker told me the buyer made their last offer, and the buyer also threatened legal action otherwise. In the end I accepted their "final offer" -- now I am wondering if the GoDaddy broker was lying to me in order to close the deal...

While technically not using dan.com nameservers, I would say the Dan-to-Afternic migration/conversion team dropped the ball on this scenario, and that Afternic should do the right thing here and charge the lower commission. They should also clarify this moving forward. Explicitly say they will...

Atom / Atom.com - Marketplace (formerly Squadhelp)

I just checked some of my Standard listings where my price at Atom is actually higher than my price at Afternic. Dynadot is showing the lower Afternic price -- so it does appear they are giving priority to Afternic over Atom regardless of the price at Afternic being higher or lower than Atom.

Seller refuses to give me a price, unless I make an offer that they'll refuse?

I don't think it was the Seller who made that reply -- it was the Afternic broker. And if that is the case, then the Afternic Broker needs more training on how to properly reply.

That might work, but if I were looking for that type of word I would search for "Amazing" first (shorter and less prone to spelling mistakes - imho). I might even look for "Great" for even shorter (depends on whether it fits well with your other words in the domain name...)

People are getting fooled by GoDaddy appraisal

I think the GD Appraisal Tool is useful for the Comps it shows (GD has access to some sales that are not listed elsewhere). But I see that it could be dangerous if newbies are using it to make decisions on buying reg-fee names (in the hopes it is worth $x,xxx or more). I fell into this trap...
