This feels like an experiment to create a brand, build it up, then sell it. The subsidiary brands/services were created very quickly, rushed. Like to make the company appear to have more value. I have never seen a company push out the door so many brands/services in such a short span of time. If...
Yes, there have been few posts that went off topic. The mods have been diligent in removing posts that would set the discussion in the wrong direction. By and large, the thread is on topic and not derailed. Quite to the contrary of what you wrote above.
It is very likely Epik is using PHP 5.x and old server software which is why the hack probably was not difficult. BTW, latest version of PHP is 8. PHP 5.x code will not work on servers running PHP 7 and later. So you have to stick with outdated server software and all the vulnerabilities...
I watched almost the entire 3 hours of Rob's live event in response to the Epik hack on prayermeeting site which was posted to Youtube. Lots of off topic conversations, an appearance by a neo-nazi showing off a swastika tattoo on his chest, Rob breaking out in prayer, during the course of the...
I think a month is too short a time to know which builds have most potential. If you do research before you build, then your few builds have a far greater chance of being successful. If you spread yourself too thin then you cannot build any site to a sufficient degree as to gauge realistically...
This is very strange reasoning, indeed, admitting that Epik could have returned the domain at renewal cost if the OP did not engage in alleged "thuggery". Especially given the fact that Epik could have acquired DomainLiquidate.com for free had Rob and one of his goons not acted like thugs and...
This is the part I find interesting, everything else reads superfluous to me:
"The oldest legacy code from the 2011 acquisition of Intrust Domains is substantially being upgraded and ultimately replaced. Bear in mind that the registrar software is a rather unique class of software so full...
If, according to RM, the case is that they did not have access to the code and the code was "shitty" (opinion arrived by due to the hack and not from eyes on), then a rewrite would be required. This is a massive undertaking. The only feasible process moving forward is to have the old code run...
@Rob Monster, do we have to start reporting your posts as off-topic? Why are you being so cagey, why are you prevaricating? What scares you about the questions raised in this thread? They are not going away.
We do have some facts such as things confirmed by Rob like, a hack did occur, the code was poorly written by Russian/Ukrainian dev team who kept the code captive, the code has not been updated since it was acquired. We also have facts reported by journalists such as what data was dumped by the...
I watched most of it and that is not all that made it unusual. Most importantly, it provided no real information or solutions. Prayers, curses, and what, a "love you" to a swastika guy. This is stranger than fiction.
The only rational explanation for radio silence from RM/E is that they are listening to lawyers. Likely to mitigate possible class action or criminal charges. Total speculation on my part, but it seems reasonable.
When you are dealing with thousands of customers using your network and services...
There is a lot of noise in this thread. Difficult to figure things out. But the contents of the emails and messages are very disturbing. Threats against family members, praying to a devil god for death, etc. This is not going to end well for someone. It's going to be a stain on domain investing...
Stop playing domainers for fools. Selling sub-domains does not make you a registry. There is a lot of nonsense going on here and it has to stop now. Sell your registrar and hosting services. But don't pretend to be something you are not.
This morning I received a cold sales email promoting a domain. Was going to send it straight to spam folder but decided it was a good example of mistakes to avoid in domain sales emails. Mistakes that I see in 99% of sales email I receive on a regular basis. It is analyzed in the following...
I believe this is one of the best posts on NP. Thanks, James, and all that participated. Very insightful. The common thread in all of the successes of these investors/brokers is 'hard work'. This is what makes them different and this is what escapes many (most?) domainers because they see...
This up/down voting system is open to abuse. You should get rid of it or allow to see the usernames of the voters like with likes/dislikes/thanks/agree.
