I have always avoided hyphens in general although i think in some rare cases they can work well such as some of the e-domain, i-domain type of names.

I wouldnt worry too much about it if ever i do something similar i re-submit my sitemap to google webmaster tools. Things will be updated in time to reflect the change anyway.
