How many mockups would you make for a website redesign?

Designing is very subjective. Usually 10 mocks are enough but then again if you've too many things out of place, you'll not be satisfied. Give a try for 2 more mockups maybe that might work.

Webmasters what do you charge

If you're creating theme for CMS then charge per theme, if you're modifying site everyday then charge per hour for that work. But consider that it is NPO and make your charges such that they will not deny your offer and you'll not put more effort than you're getting paid for.

Will forwarding domains hurt my SERP?

If you use things like no_url_shorteners or cli.gs then such redirection do hurt SERP value. I mean you need some linkbacks and those links are masked by another domain. This surely hurts SERP value. One thing to note here is they'll not punish you for that. But you'll not get link juice,that's it.

Nanacast has membership plugin for most of the CMS out there. Other than that Simple Member Pro Easy Member Pro,WP Wishlist, Fantasos are some the good softwares that you can use with your existing CMS to turn it into membership site.

Tips on getting forum going?

I have similar experience unless and until we offer either contest or something freebies, we don't get traffic on forum. Besides that content is king statement is not applicable to forum. So better create some group and make it active on forum. Have some debaters and contest promoters on forum...

Weebly.com is one free hosting site that i think you should try out in my opinion. It is free hosting and you can get your own .com as well. Other than that webs.com as you mentioned is also good.

I agree that people spam. Main trouble with spam posting is irrelevant dofollow. that mean some people post weight loss article link on poetry or science blogs. isn't that weird ?

Well there is nothing wrong with their affiliate program as far as i can see. But i think of their free hosting plan as bit confusing. Lots of restriction and heard from many members that they can delete account without notice. So that line of reasoning i'll not bet on their affiliate program.

Need Google Checkout to replace PayPal

Just my suggestion before moving to google checkout. Why not try services like Plimus, Merchatinc,2checkout or similar services ? This will save your time and those checkout services also offers payment acceptance from Paypal/alertpay etc. That way you don't need coder and you can integrate cart...

I find it bit hard to program Google Gadgets linked to my site. Maybe i lack in some programming. But i have tried my best so far to learn gadgets. Some XML stuff in that is what keeping me from learning that.

Renting Web Sites

Yet to see if anyone have any success with domain renting. Never heard this before. Maybe someone can experiment with it. But may be dangerous in longer run, like if adsense and similar ad network bans that domain then that domain become useless.

The software that is available as of now is Beta. And final version is not rolled out yet and current offered version is not even RC. So expect some bugs in this version. By the way, thanks for sharing.

Non -US Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta Program

No Yahoo is not accepting non-us publishers. most probably reason is they are targeting publishers of US/UK and want to strengthen their own geo targeting ad network. In future, Yahoo might start this service for non-us publisher but after 1 year i don't see that coming.

People gaming system with those backlink packets and links. It is hard to maintain quality of searches so it is obvious that they'll update algorithm often. Check matt cuts blog to see if this is rumor or true news.

well there are many good bloggers domain are banned because of their activity found suspicious but on flippa those domains are sold for higher cost. Sometimes Adsense Bans at false alarm, so it's not that they can't listen they can and you can even ask them to allow adsense once you purchase...

Site is gone from Page 1 after Off Page SEO

I have discussed with some SEO people i know and i found that,In your case this looks like "google dance" phenomena. When there is position change or PR change or any sandbox possibility then google removes the result and put in sandbox. I strongly think this is what happened in your case.
