Could be how it was entered. I assume that most, if not all two letter domains would be registered/parked by now. Have you tried whois.sc?

Honestly from how your describing the situation, I would make a page proclaiming "this domain is for sale!!". It keeps the focus on the domain name and not content. Plus more than likely, you'd spend more time developing a dummy site with negative effects to the price of your site than just...
