And what will you be doing with a typo of "blogger," which has been TM'ed by Google (since 2005)?

You might want to consider grace deleting this one.

*

Blogger is no more of a valid trademark than green, apple, website, blue, paper, etc. are valid trademarks.

If someone trademarks "bloger.link" or "bloggers.link" then yes, there would be an issue. Or if Google had Bloggers brand shoes and I sold shoes on bloggers.link, there would be an issue. This is not an issue here.

If you still disagree, please, do feel free to notify Google of this: I would love for them to contact me. They can't enforce "blogger" any more than Nike can enforce the trademark "runner".

Well, except that you just admitted why you bought the domain.

If there's even a .01% chance Google will promote blogger.link, then it's worth going for bloger.link. Common domainer sense.

And there is no reason to promote it when they have the well known .com. More defensive, just forward it type deal is more likely.

Do you really think Google's legal team is going to care about this mickey mouse forum? lol Please, I beg you... send them the link to this forum.

I can see how blogger.com or 1-800-blogger can be trademarked and protected, but not just "blogger" all by itself, no, not anymore than "runner" can be trademarked and protected form every use.

I regged blogger.link before Google did; they convinced unireg to get it before GA. I regged bloggers.link, so I think bloger.link is a good sister domain.

Send a link? It's not like Google is a search engine or anything and crawls the web. You're already on page 1

Passing on a .com for a .link, great strategy.

You love it too, it's why in your short time here, you're on your 4th different domain for your main site. .com ---> .eco --------> .ventures ------> and now back with the winner .com again. I saw some hope in your recent posts, then saw 30 .link regs and trying to grab some shine off yet another company's work and brand/trademark. But good luck nonetheless.

Yeah, we've been there done that before. The song remains the same. Que sera.. I now just turn off the noise. We all see what we want to see.. and have decisions to make when the roads well traveled come upon new crossroads. They may or may not lead somewhere, but this time they have signs and are well paved, so for me... nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Same price either way, so why not? Fun to try something 'new'. Just may lead to something. :$:

Unlike Apple, website, etc, "Blogger" is a made-up, branded word (based on the word "blog"), specifically created for the Blogger platform.

Now are you going to be regging typos of Verizon?

But, no, I'm not going to forward anything to anyone. I'm not out to make anyone's life more difficult, just warning you of a potential pitfall.

I figure Google will find you. They may decide to do nothing about it, but then again they might hand you your head on a platter, given that they have deeper pockets than you.

You just don't know.

:hehe:  D-:

Originally it was EcoWhale.com, but people didn't know how to spell "whale" so I had to change it. Cool.Ventures is nice, but people aren't adapted to other extensions yet, so I'm using what I have in the meantime until I make a better strategy. I don't like .com. It's what I'm stuck with until I make a feasible change again later on.

That's not fair to compare blogger to verizon. Verizon is obviously made up and is strictly a trademark. Blogger is a someone who blogs and is intended to be a dictionary word as such.

But really, telling Google on me will do me a favor, not hurt me.

---------- Post added at 05:23 PM ---------- Previous post was at 05:20 PM ----------

Blogger is a dictionary word first and a un-enforceable trademark secondly:

How often do you use "com" as a meaning for anything? Basically never. Far less than you would use "link" for something.

no one uses link for anything besides hyperlinks, which is extremely limited in scope. .com just means the internet. its just how it is. unless you have a time machine and can convince the creators of it to change domains to be seperated by a dot...though that would result basically in one word domains not existing.

.net means the Internet. .com is the abbreviation for commercial. Far from every Internet website is commercial.

  • .link is not restricted to commercialization (.com), networks (.net), organizations (.org) or countries (.us). It is appropriate for anything!
  • .link signifies that it's an internet address. For example, .photography doesn't and needs the cumbersome "www" prefix.
  • .link looks better in text, for example, "here is MyResume.link" is far more appealing and memorable than: "Here is the link to my resume: janstewert.dweebly.com/resume.html". When in text, people are more likely to click on <something.link" than other domains.
  • link is catchy and meaningful: It's much better to be a "link" (a.k.a. connection) than a "web", "online", etc. All the good .web, etc. domains are already pre-registered and likely will have high early access (landrush) fees. .web is good, but .Link is best. You can get a .link cheap today!
  • .link is broad and suitable for ANY keyword as opposed to almost all other extensions. This means that .link is far more likely to become mainstream and achieve mass appeal than the other extension choices in the long run. This is attractive to both domainers and end users.
  • If you need to use more than one domains, then the universal nature of .link is best. For example, I use green.link for my business and bio.link for my personal sites. This is less confusing for me and my visitors than mysite.green and mysite.bio being used simultaneously.
  • * In the future, as links become ubiquitous in objects, you will be able to touch links everywhere! and instantly access them on your mobile device or computer. With Google Glass, you will be able to activate links by eye movements.
  • Dotless keywording: "AustraliaExploration.link" sounds better than "Australia Dot Exploration".
  • Registration and renewal fees are much less than most of the other extension choices.
  • There are no restrictions for the use of .Link.
  • .Link is short and one syllable as opposed to .online, .exploration, etc. which is critical for mobile devices and marketing.
  • Link is universal and an internationally understood word.
  • There are no other domain extensions to confuse with "link" as opposed to .onl / .online, and .web / .website / .site, etc.
  • All the letters in "link" are conveniently on the right side of the keyboard which is especially great for mobile devices.
  • Contrary to popular belief, there are no search engine advantages to keywords in the domain name, so australia.exploration will not result in better search results for "australian exploration" than just exploration.link.
  • The world's 10th most popular website is LinkedIn. Link TV's slogan is "Connecting You to the World".
  • In summary, there are many advantages of exploration.link over www.australia.exploration or australiaexplorationonline.com for example because that's how those look side by side when properly marketed.
i don't know about you but i never say 'go to this link' i say 'go to this site' or go to blaglbha.com/net/org/ca/tvetc

in the consumer conscious .com means internet. it doesn't matter what it really means anymore. (and btw .net means network..)

for these new gtlds unless you are using it like a phrase/word i see little value in them. like up.link or hyper.link (can't really think of any phrases for .link) etc work but just putting any word in front of it defeats the only thing that makes the new gtlds any good.
