XR can be X Reality or Extended Reality.

Either way it describes the spectrum just like mixed reality.

Been looking around and shopping for a while now, saw many companies choosing to rebrand to xr or just starting with xr in their names..

Those are only some of my findings that are already developed (there are many more undeveloped by major companies like unity/sony etc..)

Decide for yourself.

Nice. Apple next…?

Can't wait mate... I know everyone is waiting on the XR glasses... what I can't wait to see is the ecosystem around it.... those killer XR apps cuz you know Apple doesn't do anything half ass. Remember when they introduced the App Store in 2008... the rest is history.... man oh man

I'm hoping the device itself gets an XR name too

which is good:
2023 is the year in which it (mixed reality) is finally starting off.
Yeah. XR > MR > VR/AR

I feel like MR is more synonymous to AR.

I've got just one MR name and thats MRSmartglasses .com

For some of us, the train has already left. It seems that only low-potential domains remain.

I disagree.

I bought some this year as well so I know, if you focus and buy aftermarket you can still get cool ones 😎 not for long though (imo) @Kingslayer will say I'm trying to pump my bags.
Jk brother, all is good.

AR delays are good for the idea of XR, now we wait :)

Say what? XR is just an umbrella term for AR, VR… it’s the same thing.

https://www.lifewire.com/ar-vs-vr-vs-mr-vs-xr-7089737

Im talking domains mate.

XR is indeed an umbrella term, the story rn is about devices that can do both vr and ar.

They will all push these devices as consumer devices that can do vr but wont keep you isolated as you are the see through option and also an option to dim the headset so overall a better experience.
That plus the (maybe) usage of apple in this term will push xr.

Much better for the term than AR glasses coming out stealing the thunder ( not possible as tech is not there yet)

Im talking domains only.

It makes sense that AR glasses would be first, because AR is a singular technology that is reasonably simple to implement. However, if they build on that we're talking about XR or MR glasses. I noticed the term "mixed reality" is becoming less popular, while "extended reality" is becoming more popular, but "mixed reality" is currently the more popular term by far.
